We have two great outdoor stores in our little country town. Price's Creek General Store In Burnsville NC They have a 10% over there cost on priceing all the time and keep most anything in stock you might be looking for from benelli's to crickets ,from KT 223 rifles to stag arms.Along with clothing for the hunt or work, boots, farmyard supplies, grocery staples, just a good country store on sterodes. Handguns are the same way with maybe 400+ firearms all the time. Now down the road a couple miles is Coopers Tradeing Post and this palce is a top class bow shop that maybe bass pro can match,, maybe. They stock just about every major brand and ever assessory you can think of from turnament to hunting that you could want with a couple ex tournament shooter doing setup and problem solving. They also sell stands and targets of all brands and sizes.

Hardesty Guns in Morehead City, NC. Family owned and VERY freindly. They call me by my name and have always treated me well. whenever I need a gun, I call them and ask them to order it. Every time and I mean 100% of the time they give me the best price I can find. I don't even bother to ask price anymore lol

Bob's Gun Shop in downtown Norfolk, Va. Great selection of guns, accessories, good friendly staff, gunsmithing dept., and and indoor shooting range with a good variety of guns to rent.

Well, doggone, I can't pass up this opportunity to sing the praises of Barnwood Arms in Ripon, CA. Just good decent folk and they know their stuff. Then right down the road in Turlock there's Bilson's Sporting Goods and Alquist Arms. I've done business with all three shops and give them my highest recommendation.

Edit: Doggone, I almost forgot Wild Sports up there in Fair Oaks, right next to Sackatommata. Good people up there, no FUD nary 'tal.

Ed's Guns in Vass North Carolina, about a hour's drive south of
Raleigh has some good prices and a good ammuntion selection for
most guns. Fuquay Gun and Gold in Fuquay Varina, North Carolina
also gets a thumbs up from me. They are easy to work with if you
are thinking about trade ins. Don't let the name fool you, they specialize
in firearms mostly.

In Lexington KY (Paris actually), it used to be Buds Gunshop, now it's the Gun Warehouse / Budsgunshop.com. Or is it Antique and Modern Firearms, or maybe Classic Arms and Archery. I have 3 of the best gun shops maybe 4 with Evans Archery and firearms, they are like being in a cave that they just dumped and unbelievable amount of stuff in it, good selection and prices too. I buy from them all, but price is the deciding factor... never paid asking price for any firearm from any of these guys.

Here in Corvallis, OR there's this pawn shop that's doing its best to become a gun shop. ABG Buyers is how it's called. They're the only reason the wife and I ever got into guns.

In Ft. Myers, Fowler Firearms have knowledgeable sales help (many with a wicked sense of humor) and a decent selection. People without an attitude ( my wife & I were complete noobs when we first started going in) will get steered in the right direction and treated respectfully. Guns on 41 has a nice owner, and an interesting selection of used and vintage pieces.

Northern NH

The Village Gun Shop
4 Kings Square
Whitefield, New Hampshire 03598
(603) 837-2345

Husband and wife team (Stan and Sandy) What a GREAT shop!! For great great prices, decent rotating selection (both new and used) this place is the best. Stan and Sandy are just so easy to deal with and for the size of the shop you would be amazed at the variety and selection. Even with my LE discount direct from the manufacturers, sometimes they can't even touch Stan and Sandy's prices. It's a very low pressure environment typically centered around the NH hunting scene but they carry a ton of other things as well. Sig line, Browning line, Springfield, etc. (authorized dealers).
Exactly how you would want a NH shop to be!!

Greentop Sports, in Ashland, Va. - comes highly recommended when folks are visiting the Richmond/Central Va. area. Again, quality guys who eat, breathe, and poop guns, hunting, reloading, and fishing.

This is a great shop. Always a great selection and fair prices considering the overhead involved.

Wild West Guns. http://www.wildwestguns.com/

Kim West and Ken run a world class shop with great pricing, shipping and full custom gun shop.

Downings Guns and Family Treasures in Cleburne TX Family owned and very nice ! If you got the money they got the time. Nice place to carry a box of donuts and burn up a Cold Sat Morning.

A shout-out for Mark's Outdoors in Birmingham, Alabama. (Actually, Vestavia but not everyone knows where that is out in the suburbs.)
They have a very professional, courteous staff, a great selection, and decent prices.

Kittery Trading Post (KTP) in Kittery, Maine has a very good selection of both new and used firearms. Their prices are a little on the high side, but then again, they give very fair trade in prices as well.

Tempe Firearms, Collectibles and Pawn. Good prices, good selection, but more importantly, great customer service for everyone who walks in the door, not just the special friends of the store owner. The best gun prices in the world mean squat if the people behind the counter don't want to sell you a gun.

I'd like to take a moment and mention Durham Gunsmithing in Durham, NC. I've been dealing with them for a few years now and they're great folks that have always treated me well. Actually more of a 'smith than a true gun store.

I have also done business with the aforementioned Ed's Guns in Vass, NC via the big gunshow in Raleigh and they also have treated me well.

Beech Grove Firearms in Beech Grove IN. Nice family place and they are working really hard to put up a range too. The owner is a local LEO and his dad. Not the biggest inventory but they try to have a good representation. Great prices, nice guys. The have some very interesting items there used that they sell on consignment. Saw 4 or 5 Pythons there at one time...liquidated collection. Saw a Radom there.

Nearby Plainfield Shooter's Supply in Plainfield IN. The guys are not quite so friendly but they're not bad. They are a little more the stereotype gun shop types but they're OK. Prices on the other hand are just amazing, they jump over the lookers to help out the buyers, they handle the paperwork and the NICS call in stuff with amazing efficiency (you'll never goof up the form at their place) and speed and wow what a selection of new and used. Saw a VZ70 there. They wanted to much but it was cool to see.

Both places are within minutes of downtown Indianapolis. By and large, Indianapolis has pretty decent gun shops. I don't think the pawn shops do a lot of gun business here though.

Of course we also have absolutely the worst gunshop in the whole world right here in Indianapolis too...but I think they shall remain nameless...of course everybody around here instantly knows what shop I mean so...

General Coin & Gun Exchange in Eau Claire, WI - This is literally the only place I go anymore. John is a great guy and can order anything you need, usually far below retail price. He's a certified Glock Armorer and an expert on AR's. There's barely ever an empty space on the gun racks, and I see a decent amount of new guns come through every week. Definitely worth stopping in there if you're ever in the area.

First off, +1 to Nushif's shout for ABG in Corvallis. A couple more in Oregon:

The Powder Horn in Forest Grove. Specializes in older guns, but has a full-service gunsmithing shop in the back. Real no-nonsense info and help with anything gun-like.

The Gun Works in Springfield. Especially good for the downwind shooters. Full-service blackpowder store with gunsmith services and a custom gun builder. 2-bore frontstuffer, anyone?

GT Distributors in Austin, TX. They've always taken good care of me and have a GREAT selection. Granted it's geared more to public safety but that's what I do so it's a good fit.
