Is this a fair price for either of these Rugers.

A friend of my fathers is wanting to sell one of his two handguns. I was wondering if what he is offering if fair for the price. He is asking for $350 for either of them.

The handguns are a Ruger P91DC and a Ruger P90 either comes with 2 mags and a OWB holster. I am not sure on the finish of the guns, but they are both in good condition. And he vouches that they function and shoot great. I am going to shoot them myself tomorrow. The P91DC comes with 200 rounds of ammo, and I think he said the P90 comes with either 400 or 600 rounds. He said they also have about the same amount of recoil, but I will see for myself tomorrow.

I was wondering if this is a fair price for one of these guns. The only handgun I have now is a Ruger Mk III. Both of these Rugers seem kinda large, but I will carry it at least in the winter months when I have on bulkier clothes.

It's not a bad price. You might do a little better if you hunt at pawn shops, but at least with these two guns, you know the previous owner, so you know what you're getting.

Well when not considering all the included ammo maybe you could...

I'd sure as heck take the P90 just for all the ammo. You said between 400-600 . Thats a big difference, so lets just say 500. Now 500 rounds of the cheapest target stuff .45 should be about .. oh.. $150 or so give or take a little. Say $12 to $15 a box times 10 boxes , plus average tax. And thats assuming its the cheapest possible ammo. So that makes the price of the gun itself $200 .. and you're sure not going to do any better than that anywhere.

I recently bought a P90 used for $350. I think it's a steal with all that ammo.
It's a great gun, btw - I'm very happy with mine.

Hello

I see those two going for $250-$380 used around here. With the ammo include, that makes the P90 a great deal. Why not offer him $600 for both?

Including the ammo, those are acceptable prices for a Ruger in good shape.
As long as it hasn't been abused, you should be OK. It's hard to afford enough ammo to use up a Ruger.

Considering that I cant get a Ruger in Pakistan for less than 3200 US$, I would have taken all of listed at the price and give the seller 50$ tip on each. BUT I am not in US so I should back off on my enthusiasm

The Ruger P91DC was discontinued a long time ago, and are very hard to come by today. It was Ruger's first .40SW pistol, which they later replaced with the P944.

I'd say get both if you can afford to! :)
My P90 is a great gun, and if the P91 is anything like my P944 then I couldn't say a single bad thing about the P91 either.

I am not sure about the finish on the guns, but I do not think they are stainless. The guy is only selling one of the two. The holsters are just plain leather holsters, I think. I don't know much about holsters, but they do hold the guns really well. I have kinda wanted a .40 for a while, but I wouldn't mind a .45 either, and the ammo might push me over to the .45. I hope that I prefer shooting one over the other, so then this decision becomes easy.

I got to shoot both of these today, and they both shot really nice. There definitely was a noticeable difference in the recoil. I could handle the P91DC a little better. I am going to find out for sure how much ammo comes with each gun. I think I might be leaning towards the P91DC though, mostly because I have wanted a gun in .40S&W, and I know I will be buying a gun in .45 sooner or later. But then again I can always get the .40 later on. Plus the P90 does have a safety and although I do feel safe without a safety I like the idea of having one. Or I could base my decision solely on which ever gun comes with more ammo.

5ptdeerhunter, did you end up buying the p91? Ive been looking for one so let me know if you end up passing on it. I think you cant go wrong with a Ruger P.
