Is this firearm legal in (K)alifornia...?

Is the DPMS Panther CMP .22 LR legal in the state of California? I just read the review in the Dec '04 issue of American Rifleman. It would be a nice gun to have.
 
Yep, 22lr not part of the AWB in CA. Local shop had a couple of them a while back.
 
Just a wild guess here, (haven't seen the gun) but the magazine well is probably not all hollowed out so it can only take .22 magazines, or something to that effect.

EDIT:
Having seen them on the DPMS website, I'd just like to say that either DPMS has pictures of the wrong guns, or I can't figure out what's different with the lower. Probably the latter.
 
The ones I saw weren't AR lowers, just look-alikes. They couldn't accept uppers or other CF parts.
 
The magazine ban still applies to rimfires so nothing over 10 rounds is legal.
