ISO 1911 pistolsmith in Northern IL

I am looking to have some work done on a stainless Delta Elite. It is going to be 'tweener work; not a full custom job, but more than just minor repair.

Anyone heard anything (good or bad) about the Gun Doctor in Roselle?

Anyone else in the area highly recommended?

I'd say get in touch with Richard Heinie--he's in Quincy, IL, and is about as highly recommended as a gunsmith could be. If he can't help you, he can probably recommend someone who can.

Marc Krebs used to do a bunch of work on M1911 pistols. He has lately done more work on AK type rifles, but may still have his hand in pistols. I think he is an APG pistolsmith, to boot.

He is in the Lake County, Il. area.
