My
C&R.gif

came in today's mail after being sent off on Oct. 13.

:D :D :D

I've ordered my bound book from Brownell's and sent copies of the license (signed in blue ink) off to about a dozen wholesalers.

What should I order first?

A CZ-52?
A Manhurin PP?
A Yugo SKS?
A Moisin?
A SMLE?

So many guns and so little money. :( ;)

Any rifle. You want the first box to be big. Also, if you haven't done so already, make a stack of copies and sign and mail them to any and all dealers because you never know when they will have something that you want.

Buy a back support belt for your UPS, FedEx and USPS guys, otherwise they'll hate you and leave your packages out in the rain.

I've tried to tell my USPS lady to leave my packages inside the glassed-in portion of our back porch about five times now, and the last package she dropped off in the driveway, during a very heavy rain. At least she could have put it in the normal spot (front porch, no glass, but there's a roof overhead). Its a good thing everything from Brownells comes packaged in plastic baggies. :fire:

Mine took about the same length of time last year, October 16th to the Saturday after Thanksgiving, it was delayed at least two weeks due to the MD State Police being slow about background checks for FFLs (according to the ATF examiner).

A C&R license lets you buy Curio & Relic firearms directly. No FFL required. You ARE an FFL for C&R items. So you see a SMLE you like on the 'Net. You can buy it, and have it shipped direct to you.

If it were me, my first purchase would be a Swiss K-31(?) or Schmidt Rubin. I hear they are getting harder to find.

On the first day of Christmas, my true love gave to me
A Browning 1919!

On the second day of Christmas...
Two CZ-52s,
and a Browning 1919!

On the third day of Christmas...
Three SKSs,
Two CZ-52s,
And a Browning 1919!

On the fourth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me
Four Mosin Nagants,
Three SKSs,
Two CZ-52s,
And a Browning 1919!

(Sorry, I'm in the Christmas spirit) :D

Welcome to the poor house.

You know that big safe that you bought a couple of years ago thinking that it would be big enough forever? It isn't  .

Greg

By all means, a couple of Yugo SKSs while they are still available!
I got one for $99 a few weeks ago and am most impressed.

It beckons to you, you must be assimilated!:D

Seriously though..I'm about ready to send mine in. The only downfall I could see is that if I get a particular specimen that I'm not exactly happy with It I may take a loss in the resale value since it has to go through a FFL dealer. Sometimes I think I'd just rather pay the 25 or so extra from a dealer to be able to look through his current stock.

But then that might be some serious incentive for me to keep more guns instead of selling them.

Sometimes I think I'd just rather pay the 25 or so extra from a dealer to be able to look through his current stock.

One of the reasons I got my C&R was that most of my local dealers don't stock very many of these weapons, and the one that does marks them up more than the $30 cost of the C&R license. He's also a PITA to deal with and rude, so I don't deal with him anyway.

Anyway, I think my first purchase is going to be one of those Manhurin PP's and a Yugo SKS from Centerfire Systems, followed by a Ballester from SOG.

So about 45 days

I guess I should expect mine by about the end of December. I sent it off on November 14th and see they've already cashed my check.

Centerfire systems had a post in the buy handgun section a month
or so ago . If you say you saw it on THR $99 for CZ-52.
I got 1 and really like it .
Just got my C&R also got a Yugo SKS from Aim
Very nice shape also .

Good Luck , Bill

I've had mine for a while (I actually got it to get the discount prices at Brownell's) but I just ordered my first rifle with it today. I have a feeling that this could get spendy, as I would like to end up with one of every countries WW2 standard issue service rifle in VG-Exellent condition. :)

Beings that i dont have a printer,where else can i get a C&R application?
Do i need to write the BATF and request the form?
Ive always been wary of obtaining a C&R figuring that if the SHTF,the first doors theyll knock down at 2:00AM will be C&R holders since they know where you live!
