I've gone through a lot of handguns...

You said you can't seem to find a handgun you like, but then say how much you liked some of the handguns you have owned. It sounds more like you can't commit to a handgun.

For realz. You need to stop selling the guns you like.

I suppose you folks are right. Selling guns for reasons other than poor reliability isn't worth it.

It took me a lot of money to figure that rule out hehe :D

I've decided to keep the M&P Full Size. I think I'll get used to the spongy trigger in time.

I'm glad I discovered the G19 as one of my very first pistols over 15 years ago. It has never EVER had a malfunction and it is, by far and away, the most shot gun I own. I still carry it to this day. It is reliable, accurate and is ergonomically perfect for me. For pocket carry, for me, nothing beats the Kahr PM9. Again, reliable, accurate and fits my hand well for such a small gun. Not bad for a load of 7 +p 9mm on board. Beats the hell out of my Kel-Tec P3AT. Then there's my Kimber 1911. What a wonderful pistol. It's a hi cap one (13+1), so it's a little bulky, but I do carry it in the winter. It serves as the house duty pistol with the G19 right behind it. Oh, and the Mossberg 500. :D

You mentioned that you really miss your Rugers so I would think they would take priority as your next purchase.

On the other hand, if you simply want something different, I would suggest you try out the Springfield XD line.

I have 2, one XD 9 HC and an XD .40 Sub Compact. Both have excellent ergonomics and triggers.

+1 on finding a range that rents guns. Buying and selling to try and find one you like can be frustrating and expensive.

But, if money is no object then by all means continue to do it your way. You seem to enjoy the hunt!
;)

Hi Logic!
I only own guns for gun games (no carry in Australia.)

I went through Glock 17, 19, 17, Para Ordnance P16, S&W 66, 60, 640, 66, 18, Ruger MKII, single six, 22-45, Beretta 92G, Tomcat, 92fs, Bul M5, Bul M5, Webley MKIV,

I'm currently semi content with 1 Glock 17, Beretta 92FS, S&W 66, Bul M5 & Model 18.

I spent more on ammo than on the guns over the years, so I guess I got my moneys worth out of them.

Saxon if you want to adopt a 31 year old son. I am available and even come with a charming daughter in law and 4 grand kids. Very nice collection. I am jealous

A lesson learned a long time ago... NEVER SELL ANY GUN... My first was a sweet Browning Hi-power. I sold it to fund a Kimber Eclipse Pro. Not a bad trade but I didnt like the pro size. Traded it for an early Kimber Clackamas and since then squired another six pistols. I still miss that BHP to this day... I know its hard, but save some cash. Make your own lunch, cut out the Starbucks, quit smoking, donate blood and other fluids, organs...

I sold it because after looking at so many pictures of stainless steel custom revolvers, I wanted my own custom revolver.

It was a really nice revolver, but after looking at so many pictures of 1911s, I wanted my own 1911.

Quit looking at pictures :)

For you maybe the hunt is more fun then the kill, you know it's like Christmas morning over and over again.

As for me, once I got through the Magnum thing I'm at peace:D

Finding a handgun you truly love is no great trick. For example, I've been able to find a host of handguns I truly love. I guess it's no small coincidence that most of them have a Walther banner on the slide. :)

So, umm...what DO you want? Maybe make a list of everything important to you, then prioritize each one against the others. Eventually, you'll have a list of what are your top priorities, then pick based on that.

You decided to keep the M&P full size...so is the non-"spongy" trigger near the top of your list? Since you decided to stick with it, hopefully not!

There is nothing wrong. Keep doing what you are doing. It is called enjoying a hobby! And you for sure are having a good time.

At first GeorgaRaised85's list seemed long to me, then I started counting the guns I have bought. Well I think George is just getting started. His only mistake was selling them, I made that mistake once with trading a gun for another. Luckily I learned from that mistake.

I've bought a few that I haven't liked in the end. One that might work well for you would be the XDm as it has some adjustments you can make in the handle area and it has a more 1911 like feel to it.

Also, Sig has a new pistol that is what I call a leggo gun which you can customize the heck out of it with pistol grip size front and back, as well as caliber, as well as small, med large frame.

Dependent on intended use, interest, just can't pass up deals, and sometimes novelty - most collector/shooters acquire, collect, trade, and even sell some guns from time to time. Its part of it - enjoy the ride.

Forget what you've read about the 'cheap' Bersas, and try one -- in particular (if you can find it!) the UltraCompact 9mm.

I'm 22 so I don't have much experience in the buying guns field, but in my opinion, if it has a trigger and goes bang, than it's a thing of beauty...other than a hi-point...(and people say GLOCKs are ugly) I've got a Beretta 92fs which I love, a GLOCK 22 which I love, and I'm picking up a Tanfoglio/ EAA witness elite match in .45 in a few days from my local dealer. I traded a Taurus 1911 for the witness, and I was very disappointed in the taurus. My dad has one which shoots amazingly so I bought one...however, with mine, at 7 yards you could barely cover the "group" with a basketball, so i opted for a change. I really don't want to ever get rid of any of the guns I have.

I love my rifles and shotgun, but I can't seem to find a handgun I like.

Yes you did. Twice.

Blued Ruger GP100 with 4" barrel. It was reliable, accurate, and had a fine trigger. .
I really, really regret selling this revolver as I really liked it

Custom Ruger GP100 with 6" barrel.Like my other GP100,
I really, really regret selling this one too

Two different GP-100's and you "really, really regret" selling them.

Some folks might call that a clue.....

I think that you are on the right track now, you know that you like the GP100 and a 3" SP101, with trigger work done will make an good carry revolver.

Georgia Raised....unfortunately I have experienced the same problem as yourself...and its cost me a small fortune. After all the Glocks, Kimbers, Wilson combats, Les Baer, Rugers, Smiths, Springfield Armory, Kel-Tecs.....and that's not including all the accessorizing I did i.e, Nights Sights Trigger jobs, Match grade barrels, mags fiber optics :banghead: Not to mention the wife's response to my silliness. I have taken a bath on many firearms. Finally, I think I know what I want  :D

I'm glad I'm "easy" when it comes to handguns. If it's reliable, I pretty much just keep them as I don't seem to have any difficulty switching between Glocks, Kimber 1911s and Kahrs. I also carry all three types as well. Even my Ruger Mk II 22/45 and Walther PPK/s are well over 10 years old. My first (and most carried) Glock, a G19, was purchased new in 1994 and I never looked back. Still love that gun.
