Think i need a second job, out of small pistol primers, low on 9mm bullets, need to finish paying off the G40 and get all the supplies to reload that, out of large rifle primers and low on .270 bullets, wife says i have a serious addiction problem lol

GunsAmerica is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from gun addiction.

    Gun-addiction screening:

    1. Do you own more than 3 guns?
    2. Do you own more than 5 guns?
    3. Do you own more than 10 guns?
    4. Do you feel suspicious of people in general, or uncomfortable around people who don’t own guns?
    5. Have you ever thought of brandishing a gun to end an argument or confrontation?
    6. Do you spend more than 5 hours a week on gun forums or reading about guns on the internet?
    7. Do you stock pile more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition?
    8. Do you feel your unsafe when you’re not carrying a gun?
    9. Have you purchased guns for family members or loved ones even if they did not want one?
    10. Do you always have to have the ‘latest’ in new gun technology?
    11. Have you ever left a loaded and unlocked gun around you home or vehicle, just in case?
    12. Do you spend more than $5,000/year on guns and ammunition?

If you answered ‘yes’ to 4 or more of these questions, you may have a gun addiction and pose a threat to your family or neighbors. The nearest chapter of GunsAmerica, a 12-step program for helping gun addicts face their addictions can help.

    I've told the Mrs,
    " I quit drinking 20 years ago.
    I don't use drugs.
    I don't smoke. Anything.
I don't chase skirts, or hang out in bars and/or bowling alleys.
You always know where I am, and with whom.
    I spend money on guns.
    And gun parts.
    And reloading.
    And reloading tools/equipment.
    That's the way it is."

    She said "Okay, cool."

    I think I'll keep her.

    I'll read those questions again but I think I'm 12 for 12.
    Question no. 13-
    What's your favorite gun?
    Answer-
I don't have one, I love them all.

The first step in addressing your addiction is to admit you have a problem. I'm pretty sure there are more steps, but that is where I stopped.

Me too! A few years ago I tried to figger out how much I spent on booze, broads and butts. I stopped counting at around $250 per month and that was before the broads...

You don't have a problem. As long as you can scrape together enough money for your wife to buy a new pair of shoes, you don't have a problem.

Same here, though 18 years, not 20 yet. She has her collections, (Currently it's Fiestaware) and as long as we both pay the bills we need to pay, we're fine with each other's hobbies.

This one may mean you really do need help.
Illegal where I am at. (and I would imagine most other states as well)
You should not be getting it out unless there may be a need to use deadly force in the confrontation.
Don't see arguments calling for deadly force.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

RMR has some pulled .270 bullets, might say you some money.
When you're ready to pick up some more powder you might want to give WSF a try.
Works real well for me in 9mm medium to Full power. (not as much vel on top as some other but close)
I don't shot 10mm but it looks like it might make some nice midrange 10mm stuff to.

    Hope your having fun reloading!

    Okay, let's begin.

    Yes.

    Yes.

    No.

    Absolutely not.

On the contrary, I feel uncomfortable around people who I know regularly carry guns but who I know have inadequate training to appropriately and effectively wield their gun.

    Absolutely not.

I have brandished a gun under circumstances were my assailant presented me with circumstances where I believed that employing my gun was both necessary and justified. In both cases, the assailant decided that rather than get into a gunfight with someone who was clearly prepared for it, their best course of action was to depart.

    Yes.

Yes. But it should be noted that I have stocked and prepared all the brass, projeciltes and primers that I anticipate needing for the rest of my life so as to not have to pay for it out of my much reduced pension.

No. I feel safe without the need to carry most places within 25 miles of where I presently live.

    Absolutely not.

No. In fact, what has put a "hook" in me reloading wise in the 1960's vintage 5.7mm Johnson (22 Spitfire) cartridge.

Far from being obsessed with "the latest", I am more of a museum curator still trying to load the 22 Spitfire.

No. All guns are locked up.

--- "Just in case". Just in case my kids get at them. Just in case my parent with dementia were to get at them. Just in case thieves were to try and get at them.

    Absolutely not.

Now, SharpDog, I would like to know who developed this "gun addiction" survey, what credentials they have, what criteria they used and what their political agenda was when they posited it to the broader scientific community and what that community's reaction was.

I can stop anytime I want to. Three days ago I stopped reloading after I boxed up 50 rounds of 45 ACP. I stopped shooting last week after I fired 150 or so rounds through my 1911. See, I can quit anytime I want, no problems. Hmm, where did I put those 9mm JHPs I need to reload?

    But who wants to?

I hit on all 12. My only problem was trying to remember when I had less than 1,000 rounds. Had to have been in the 80s when I didn't have 2 pennies to rub together. Now I have a sheet metal safe full of ammo, and ammo stacked on top, nearing the ceiling. And some here consider me to be an amateur. :notworthy:

Whoa, whoa, whoa. You are OUT of bullets, if there was a problem you would have "too many".*

    * "Too many". A fictitious amount of ammunition or components. If one departs this Earth and leaves ammunition or components behind, that was just enough.:)

I'm 11/12 . I will fix #12 when I no longer have 2 car paymentsand a mortgage. I will fix that quickly...first 6 truck payments after the truck is paid off are for gunsmithing equipment, starting with a tabletop combination machine with 30" lathe bed, a table to hold said machine, and a good chunk of accessories to get the machine up and running. I already have a list, and that list hits 4 grand in a hurry.

I know I have a problem at the moment because I’ve spent so much money on guns I don’t have any left for bullets. I’m down to like 500 left over 9mm bullets and no more in the budget for at least a month :uhoh:
