J Frame Carry

What have you found to be the most effective way to carry your J Frame? I'm looking for an 'in stock' holster that's excellent quality. Appreciate your opinions.

Had shoulder replacement and until I feel ok about the XDs again,I am carrying one inside pocket in Bianchi soft liner.

The other is in ankle rig [ Bianchi soft/leather combo ].

But the pocket carry NEEDs a soft loose pair of pants,I am wearing Tru-Spec's BDU's.

CTGunner- I just sent you a PM, but I love the Desantis thumb break Scabbard. It's tight, secure, rides the belt very nicely, and tucks the gun high and tight. Perfect for concealment, and the cant makes for a nice smooth draw.

My first j-frame holster was the Desantis "Tuck This". I keep buying others, but nothing carries like that Cheap-o nylon IWB. I like it because the cylinder rides below the belt line and feels like nothing when carrying. It's on my hip right now.

Mika pocket holsters They seem bulky at first, but conform to the gun and your leg. They stay in place and remain open for re-holstering..You won't find a nicer guy than Robert either.

I use a DeSantis Nemesis too. However, I fold up a small rag and stuff it into the pocket between the holster and pants. This breaks up the triangle outline of the barrel, backstrap and bottom of grip. This trick works really well for larger guns such as the Glock 26/27/33.

Same here or in a Bianchi 4750 Ranger Triad ankle holster. Nice thing about the small J-Frames is they are adaptable.......

When I carried a j-frame it was with a DeSantis Nemesis--the one made for mini-Glocks. It worked for all my j-frames, and later my Kahr PM9.

I still have the Nemesis (and the PM9 ) although all six j-frames are long gone. Lately I've been thinking that I need a 642. If I end up with one, that same Nemesis will share duty.

I have a larger one that works for a Kahr P45 and a 3" 1911, and although I've done it, those are both too large for pocket carry (for me).

I have a Mika holster for my LCP, and would not hesitate to try one for a j-frame (if I had one ). Mr. Robert Mika is a class act all the way, and a pleasure to deal with.

Rides low in the waistband, use it for when my 66 Kframe is too big for discreet carry.

Since you said "in stock" holster I won't suggest a Minka pocket holster even though they are very good.

I got this DeSantis Nemesis about 3 months ago to carry a S&W 360. It works fine, stays in the pocket, the revolver slides right out.

I tried a clipless Concealment Specialties holster today "Remora-style" at Appendix IWB with my snubbie. Worked like a charm. The gun never moved. I walked up and down stairs. Got into and out of my car. Sat and had a meal. For a $15 holster than can be used in the pocket and AIWB, it's hard to beat.
