Post your J frame prices. Nice to know where and who is paying what these days. No age restrictions, no model limitations as long as it is a S&W J Frame.

642 purchased in Feb 07. $385 plus tax.

Crimson Trace Model 405 grips. $229. (shipping incl) Discover Optics

642CT: purchased last week of March 2007. Cost: $580.00+tax Grin on my face when I pull the trigger: priceless.... ;)

I bought a 642 a week ago and it was $399. The store I bought it from has higher prices, but they have a great staff and customer service.

Nib 642

Just bought a 642 at my local firearms dealer. Listed for $379. I also wanted the Crimson Trace LG405 and they were listed for about $40 more than can be had online. I told the salesman that I really wanted to support their store as they have very knowledgeable staff, an indoor range, etc, but I couldn't pay that much more. So in the end they knocked off $20 bucks. Technically 10 bucks of each item so the 642 was really $369 and the LG's $259.

For the 642 Shoot Straight in Apopka, FL wants $369 NIB, then you have tax and background fee as well. They do a lot of business though, most other places want another $25.

Los Angeles area,
Turners Outdoorsman:
March 07, 642 $419 CTC 405'd Discovery Optics $229
April 07, 442 $325

Got a 642 NIB last week for $399 OTD. Saw one at a gunshow today for $625:what:
Wonder if that has anything to do with my opinion of gunshow carnies??

Southwest Michigan:

MC Sporting Goods- 637 or 642 both $379 on sale.

Gander Mountain both cost $419.

A CT-642 is priced at $619.

Last weekend at a gun show LG405 was priced at $250 OTD. There is a place on the Internet that is selling them for $233 shipped.

Mod. 60-14 2" bought 08-05 used but LNIB $275

Mod 38 2" electroless nickel bought many moons ago $280

Mod 60 2" adj. sights, & Mod 63, bought so long ago I can't remember what I paid for them but if I had to guess I'd say less than $250 each

I wish I had the Mod 37 flat-latch I bought about 15 years ago, no paperwork. I sold it for $225. :cuss:

Where do you shop in Durham. I find that Mace Sports has the best prices 'round here.
Also try Blackwood Station Outfitters. Really nice folks.

Purchased my S&W 642CT from Cabelas in Hazelwood, MO on April 25th for $539.00. The regular price from Cabelas was $569.00. They matched the Sale Ad from Dunn's Sporting Goods in South St. Louis for the $539.00.

April '07: 642 CT at Sportsmans Warehouse for $529 + tax. While the price was the best in town, the buying experience was most certainly not. I almost got the impression that they were looking for reasons not to sell to you, and I have a CHL (making the background check unnecessary). I won't be buying another firearm from there again, even if they are the cheapest.
