I've enjoyed his writings for years. I spoke with him in brevity on another forum, but sadly never got to meet or shoot with him. He's the reason I carry a two-tone single action Ruger.
RIP Legend! Among tons of excellent eye-opening articles, John was the first one to make us aware of what could happened if when handgunner goes too far shooting heavy recoiling handguns. Thank you Great Man for all your writing and advice.
Back before the internet I sent him a question via letter addressed to one of the magazines he wrote for. To my surprise and delight I received a handwritten reply with a copy of an article I would never have found otherwise.
I was out of the country and missed this news. What a loss to the gun community! Mr. Taffin's writing always informed and inspired me. He will be missed.
