Welcome to the club.

After you fall in love with it, you'll find yourself defending the gun against people who will continue to bash it and say things like, "It's pointless....with today's compact 9mm's why bother with a .380?" and so on.

While I have moved on to bigger and now more favorite guns, I still own my Bersa and will love it forever.:)

Love mine.

I usually introduce new shooters to the hobby with it. If I could get a carry permit out of my local PD, this would be the primary carry for me.

If you take newbies to the range, do not leave this gun at home. You will convert them all.

:D :D

Thanks kulika, I will keep that in mind-- my girlfriend wants to come shooting with me, and I'm glad I have something in between the .22 and the .40 now.

A friend of mine is bugging me for not waiting for the gun show this weekend; he jokes that I'll find one for $85 now that I've bought mine. But with all the good things I've heard about them, I think I'd add another one to the fold if it were only $85 :)

Welcome to the club There will be some that will tell you its junk could have got a 9 same size. Just smile and walk away, cause after you fire it you will understand why 99.9% of us love our Bersa. Then next time you see them do this:neener:

Congrats, Lord.

Since I picked up mine, I've put a couple thousand rounds through it. You'll find out soon enough that not only is it comfortable to carry concealed, but it's also a fun pistol to shoot. Mine has been extremely dependable, and gotten more so as it has broken in. At first there were a couple of FTE's per hundred rounds, now it is 100% reliable with any ammo and I carry it every day.

Enjoy it, it's a great gun.

Welcome aboard...

I ahve them in .22, .32 and .380... and never had any problems with them.

Another member of the club

My Thunder 380 is on order and should arrive shortly. Can't wait!

I've got a suggestion. I've also got a S&W 642 and they have a 642 Club thread on THR where most 642 related posts seem to be directed. Why not make this thread a Bersa 380 Club thread so we all know where to look when we want to get information or share our experience?

If you agree, start passing the word and let's get this thread going.

My favorite gun shop sells nearly as many Bersa Thunder .380's as they do all other pistols combined. They have never had a Bersa .380 come back as in-operable in over 8 years. I have 2, and carry them daily.

And Lord Bodak, if your friend can find a working Bersa Thunder .380 for $85:scrutiny: , then I will instantly offer him $90 plus shipping cost to buy it! Guarantees him a profit.:D

Don't know much about these pistols. Does the .380 fire from a locked breech or is it a blowback? I've heard many people at a local gunshop praise these pistols, but they all want 9MM or .45ACP.

I held one today, the 9mm Bersa and it is impressive upon inspection and priced at $400. It is kind of a Walther P88 compact knock off, except the safety goes down to fire, like a 1911. Push the safety up and it drops the hammer and locks the action. If I had room for one in my safe I would buy it:(

You could have gotten a 9mm that would have been the same size... :neener:

Just kidding. I miss mine. The Bersa was the first gun i purchased for myself. It was one of the only guns (aside from a glock) that I traded. Come to think of it, I think i traded it for a 9mm that was about the same size...

I miss my Bersa.

I also have the Bersa .380 and I only have one problem with it everytime I take it to the range.

Someone see's it sitting there and is interested in firing a few rounds, I let them and after they are done I have to wrestle it out of their hands. :D

I have the .45 too. Nice little gun and I may carry it when I get a holster for it.

Yep come on over to the BERSA site. Lots of good information. Michael T. is the strawboss over there and a fine fellow (attempts to gain brownie points for next Karma)

You won't find much negativity on the BT380. Many like it better than the Walther PPK and at half the price.

I have over 700 rounds through mine and not one hitch or glitch yet.
Don't use WWB and otherwise it's not a fussy eater.

Great gun for the money. I leave mine in truck 24/7. That way if I run out the door on an errand and don't feel like loading up I have something to slip in my pocket that in the vehicle. If the vehicle gets stolen I'm only out a couple hundred.

Say what you want about the .380 I wouldn't want to get poked with 90gr COR BON JHP. I have the extended magazine and the count is 9+1.

I'll be joining the club at the end of the month. :D

Got a used one on layaway.

I'd be part of the club, but there is only one Thunder .380 to be had 'round these parts, and it's the "gold"-accented Limited Edition.

Eww.

Had the same limited choice but I went ahead and got it anyway. The price was right. My "Pimp" gun has been 100% reliable. Didn't really expect the "gold accent" to hold up but it has been surprisingly durable so far even on the hammer face which I expect gets the most wear. In any event my wife really likes it because it's easy to handle. With the extended magazine it fits my larger hands very well.

The bersa has been on my list as well. I met a guy at the range and he let my shoot his thunder. I was impressed with it. All of the owners love them.

Well for me, the price would have been not-so-right. $280 + 7.75% for something I really couldn't stomach aesthetically, just wasn't gonna do it as my first handgun purchase... LOL

I ended up saving some more and buying a Glock 19. I pick it up on the 14th. :)

I like the Bersa .380 .. I don't have one but a buddy does which I have show a lot.. small and light weight excellent safety features (which I am not a fan of.. some like it).. shoots well ..

Donut- I have nothing against a Glock- my G19 is a fave of mine- but you chose one over a Bersa for esthetic reasons??? To each his own!

Not really. What I wanted all along was the Glock. I've wanted one since I can remember. However, I had $300 to spend from the sale of some parts off my car, and a friend raves about his Bersa, so I decided that the Bersa would be an inexpensive "hold over" until I could save for the Glock. Then, when there were no Bersa's to be had except for the Limited Edition one, I did the math, and realized that I'd be spending $365 when all was said and done (BG check and HSC added $50) on something I didn't care for the looks of (It was really just the gold, I love the DuoTone Thunders).

When I looked at it like that, coupled with the arrival of a freelance check I'd been waiting on, I realized that I could get what I REALLY wanted. The Bersa will come eventually. If there is ever any supply in SoCal, that is.

380 ACP Ammo Question

Just picked up my new Bersa Thunder 380. Here's a simple question. The Bersa manual says to use ".380 ACP" ammo. This is the same as "380 Auto" ammo, correct?
