Joined the shotgun community

Well I took the plunge went to the local gun store but could not find the shotgun I was looking for. It was a used Rem870 3 1/2 mag 28 inch vent ribbed for 330...unfortunetly I did not get it before my trip to Alaska and I missed it but I did pickup a Benelli Nova 3 1/2 mag 28 inch vent ribbed and an Itaca model 37a featherweight, picked that up for 225. never owned or fired a shotgun before but my friend assisted me in spending my money so any suggestions or anything I should know?

Ithacas are wonderful shotguns. If it doesn't have a recoil pad on it already I would purchase a slip-on, shotguns without pads aren't too fun to shoot.

Actually it was a consignment and it does already have the recoil pad. The engraving is a litte warn but overall the weapon is in great shape. Does anyone have one?

37s are one of the classics. JMB design, great execution.

I checked out another thread on it. Is there anything I should specifically know about that shotgun? or the benelli other than to NOT use the benelli to butt stroke a wall of your house?
