Joshua Boston on Piers Morgan Tonight

I thought he actually did good against Piers. For once when Piers says" I just think you should be able to defend your house with a pistol", I want someone to offer the rifle deaths versus the pistol deaths in this country. I would almost be afraid that he would start on banning all pistols too. I only watched the clip of Joshua, watching the complete show would be like pulling teeth...

I think we would want him to start ranting against handguns. He does that and he looks more like a loon. Alot more handgun owners than AR owners out there.

I mean to say that, what does he care about it's outcome? He has no part in shaping or reshaping how the country ends up.

I believe he makes some offhand comment in the segment about "his children being raised and going to school here."....something like that.

If that's the case, looking at Mr. Morgan's nee Meara's educational background, I wonder if his children are really in public schools? Or are they being educated at elite private schools from Day 1, as Mr. Morgan was?

With the enormous pressures on him to not simply represent himself, but also to represent common-sense gun owners in America, Boston did an excellent job. If anything, he was better on Pierce's show than on the earlier CNN clip. Bringing up CCW's preventing mass murders is an excellent point, and it's not difficult to name 2 or more cases CCW's prevent a mass murder to every media-crazy mass murder that is portrayed on TV.

The only think I would like for him to add to his selection of points (which would have been especially helpful during Pierce's interview) would be the vast difference between crimes committed with handguns vs long guns. If anything, Pierce should be against handguns since they are used in the majority of crimes.

Just watched the Piers clip. Mr. Boston is exactly the type of spokesperson that we needed to come to the forefront. He is obviously very current on firearms events, issues and facts, and he presents those facts with poise and quiet force. We will be seeing more of this guy, and that is most likely a great thing.

One word: Excellent.

We should let any friendly media outlets (even smaller local ones) know that Boston would be a good guest.

I would disagree that he was excellent. He was good, and came off as someone who I like. But if wants to be a spokes person (not that he wants that, I dont know) he needs to loosen up a bit he was clearly nervous. I'm not tearing him up just constructive criticism. Theres alot of facts I wish he threw at piers in addition to the ones he did. The nervousness will go away I would imagine after a few more interviews.

lobo9er:
Maybe Mr. Boston's performance was not what we could call excellent, but if you had seen that Other guy's very unfortunate emotional presentation Monday night, Mr. Boston was so much better, and much more rational.

I liked that part also. Piers was actually at a loss of words for a moment when e stated that if there had been multiple attackers the woman would have been in trouble. Piers had no real answer when faced with the reality that more rounds are sometimes needed. He quickly ended the interview after that

If he keeps on doing interviews and talking in public he will get better each time no doubt. In my opinion I think mr bostons letter was better than what the NRA took a week to come up with in response to sandy hook. Blaming mortal combat and movies.

Some of the most vocal gun control advocates are from overseas, and oddly they DO feel they have a right and responsibility to force our country to be more like their own. It's a truly bizarre attitude, but I've run into it many many times over the years. Ironically these same folks will immediately want to go shooting when they come visit! Seriously, I had an anti-gun visitor from Australia who was very excited to shoot my AR's. I gave him one bullet at a time--I was taking no chances. But as it turned out he did pretty good. He's still strongly anti gun of course. It's been hard wired into them for generations over there and in the UK.

I'll play devil's advocate. Briefly.

The "powerful" comment about the AR platform is not the actual cartridge, but the capacity. IE, 10 rounds of 223 arent as 'high powered' as 30 rounds on board. I think that is where the description comes into play.

He's no Alan Gottlieb, but he'll get better with time. Good points, could have been delivered better but not bad for his first time. I kept hoping I'd hear the "number of people injured in mass shooting incidents by the time police respond Vs. number injured when a CCW is present" statistic.

What stat is that? Source please.
