    That's a beauty. Walnut responds nicely to finishing.

    Every piece of wood has it's own story and character.

    I had this laying around for years and finally decided to do something with this hunk of walnut.

    Contacted Cooper Firearms of Montana and had them build a 6.5x284 around the blank. While not a stellar piece it did turn out ok.

    Sorry, should have clarified that is with comparing Cooper's AAA+ wood.
