Well, I no sooner mention that mine's a little overdue and then it pops up in the mail today. 2 days shy of 4 months. Oh well, better late than never...at least it ain't Kali!

I'm in Henry County and when I applied they told me at least 6 to 8 weeks. It came in the mail in 42 days.

I beleive the resources at packing.org note that Georgia state statute says they have 60 days to issue or deny your CCW. From what I understand, a lot of counties are copping out by saying that the FBI is back-logged and taking a long time with the requests.

I was not aware GA CWW applications went all the way up to the FBI...no wonder they can't keep track of anything if they're doing idiotic background checks a County Deputy could be accessing through NCIC.

Well, it looks like Newton County can't keep up with Barrow County but they're trying. I applied for my renewal on Monday and got my shiny new license yesterday (Thursday). Not too shabby. On a side note, if the issue number is any indication of license holders then it looks like the number of CCW's in Newton County is about half of what it was is 1998.

i think they have to go to the FBI because the permit excepts you from an NCIC check, which goes through the FBI
if im wrong someone please correct me...just a guess

It took about 60-90 days, IIRC, to get mine in Carroll County about a year ago.
