Haven't been around since last Jan, Got hit with my Mustang, totaled by an Suv. driving into oncoming traffic, Spine "already bad for 30 yrs" broke 3 more disks, and blew out my rotor cuff and tendons. First one in 50 yrs. Bought 2 guns during the time I was laid up, and going to see if my still unfixed rotor cuff will take the recoil, A PC 45 Shield, and a Sig 365. Cheers to all my THR friends.

Ouch, hard to say glad you are ok as it seems you definitely have some recuperation. But glad it wasn't worse than it was.

Welcome back! Sounds like you had, or are having a bad time there. Hope you mend as well as can be.

Glad you are relatively OK, sounds like it could have been worse. Here's to healing up fast and completely.

Welcome back, I hope you have fully recovered. I had to shoot.22lr for a year after my shoulder surgery

Great to have you back! Sorry to hear of your injuries and hope you're well on the road to wellness! You might want to go easy with the more heavier recoiling guns; maybe start with a .22 like Labguy47 mentioned and take it from there.

Welcome back. I trust you are well on your way to full functionality. Glad you haven't lost interest in shooting!

Sucks to be a victim. No doubt she was doing something much more important than your well being, like texting a friend.

I wish you a speedy recovery!

Yuk, it’s miserable being laid up and fighting to get back to normal again. I hope your recovery does allow you to get back to the range to exercise those new guns!

Get better soon!

I went to the range today after I posted, shot like a guy that hadn't shot in a year. All were still on the profile target. The shoulder isn't bothering me, just a slight tremor in the hand. I would say about 70% of my normal skill.I really wanted to make sure my Bedside gun, my 19 was functioning and the 365 I picked up yesterday ran. they both did. I had gutted my 19 Gen4, and put a gen 3 trigger assembly along with changing the plunger spring and putting in the new "angel" non stacking connector from ghost. It felt like one of those $1000+ rip-off Glocks, that are now all the rage. The Angel is fantastic, no stacking at all felt like about a 4 lb smooth pull, reset was faster than before. I always wondered about that dimple they put in the gen 4 trigger bar, "that ran along the slide. It turns out, the gen 3 is smoother, felt like a different gun, highly recommend. The 365 is a nice gun, it's not the easiest gun to shoot well but I could still stay in the head of the target at 10 yards. Now I gotta get my motor skills back. I also had a PC 45 shield I never had a chance to shoot, "she hit me 3 days after I bought it". It shoots nice but hurts more. Time will tell. Thanks for all the kind words. The lawsuit is dragging as I get things fixed, I am getting an ablation on the 28th,"nerve burn" then we will see if I need another a disk fusion. The shoulder stopped hurting unless I go and do something dumb, like pick up a heavy package. They can't do the surgery till the spine is done, because as many of you guys know, you have to sleep sitting up for 6 weeks, and with 2 labs, that's going to suck. The surgeon said I could wait from 1-3 years before the tendon shrunk down to where they can't attach it,but it doesn't hurt like it did.

Hello George Burns,
Glad you are on the mend. I also had an accident a couple of years ago due to a goofball that was lost and paying more attention to his navigator than the motorcycle coming his way. Without boring you with my injuries and recovery I will just say “glad you are doing well and it’ll be hindsight soon.”

I would highly recommend a La-Z-boy recliner if you have to sit up to sleep. One of the best investments I ever made.

Oh yeah, Ibuprofen is a wonder drug for pain if you are trying to keep from taking the prescription stuff.

I hope things go well for you.

I've felt your pain 2 discs and both shoulders. It's almost 7 years to get to where I am. Still can't handle teal heavy recoil from 06, 7rm or 12 ga., but shoot 7mm08 class rifles without problems. Best wishes for your recovery work up to heavier cals. slowly.

Car accidents scare the hell out of me; and they're far more likely than what's discussed here.
I have a mid/large-sized sedan -- because they're like the 9mm of vehicles -- the best compromise...
But I often find myself wanting an older Suburban/Tahoe, just for its great mass and survivability in an accident.

Glad you are still around, and able to shoot. I was broadsided coming up on 3 years ago, broke my collarbone with the seatbelt, shattered 4 ribs, and broke my knee hitting the steering wheel. Took 6 months to feel up to shooting a .22 pistol and another 3 months to shoot a 9mm with any regularity. Close to a year I pulled out an AR and was able to manage it. I have had back, neck, and shoulder problems for years before the accident and they were all aggravated, what I learned was not to push it, ease back into life, and be glad you are still around to enjoy life.

Roads are scary, and the people flinging autos about do not lend reassurance.
(Just tonight, the person in fornt of me at the drive-through was using a windshield mount for their phone . . . to text. Phone at 1 o'clock to the steering wheel, too)

Pace yourself, even when you don't think you need to. Listen to the PT people (even when they are wrong).

Be safe out there, there are few enough of "us" as is.
