I have a model 151M-B, which is a full stock version. Got it used in 1960 in a trade. It has been a reliable .22 rifle, not incredibly accurate but good enough. Easy to remove the bolt for cleaning. Is grooved for scope mounting and is for .22 Long Rifle only. Shot lots of cottontails and squirrels with it over the years.
Funny i bought one this week end. Made in the 50's. Nice rifle. I dont like the rear site though. I tried to get it sited in at 100 yards and it shoots low. Not enough adjustment in rear. It would require shorter front site but it is fixed. I went to 50 yards and shoots within 2 inches. Was very pleased. All the 151 rifles are accurate. It can tke rings as you can see on the rifle. Diifferent brands of 22 lr shoot different so try various brands. Beautiful rifle. I think if you scoped it 100 would be fine. I just like iron sites.
They are great .22s as all of the old Mossbergs are. Instead of rehashing a lot of info go to the Mossberg forum at Rimfire Central. I love the High Road but that forum has the most accurate info on vintage Mossbergs anywhere on the net. See you over there and good luck. http://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=51
