Just Cringe Worthy

We’ve all read of extremely high Ammo counts per dead enemy from WW1 thru WW2 thru Korea and Nam, with the numbers escalating after WW2. A direct result of more automatic weapons on the field I suppose.
Does the Army/Marines even teach marksmanship or is it all “spray and pray”.
 
There are a few Civil War rounds I have, they were excavated in the mid 1890s and sold as souvenirs.
