Just picked it up from the pawn shop, I'm happy!! Can't wait to shot it!!! I still have to go shot my bersa I picked up a couple weeks back, oh well, I just had to tell someone, I will write range reports for all my new weapons as soon as I make it to the range.

Get ye to a range :). I don't think I've ever bought a handgun (excepting my cap and ball Remington 1858 clone :)) that its taken me more than 2 days to go shoot. Ya gotta break em in! ;)

I think you'll really like that P95. I have the utmost confidence in mine. Didn't fully realize how good it was until I bought a couple other 9mm's in the same price range. They weren't bad, but the P95 is the best of them. Very reliable gun that has not let me down.

That said, it's sort of my policy to only buy NEW semi-autos, as I really don't have an idea how well they'll work until I actually shoot them. The warranty could save you some real headaches. Used revolvers are rarely a problem.

But it's doubtful you'll have any problems with a P95, used or new.

Almost all companies honor the warranty on a gun regardless of if you're the original owner or not. As a matter of fact Ruger doesn't even HAVE an official warranty (as by having one it has different legal requirements that can vary by state). Basically, they just have a promise to stand behind their products. If it breaks, call em and they'll make it right - used, new, whatever.

Thanks guys!! I can't wait either, I work in retail so I'm stuck till December, but I'll post a report for every thing I shoot, as to the ruger, I've cleaned it up, and the play on it is so darn smooth!!! I'm the bersa will shoot like a dream also!!

im taking a friend shopping today for his first gun and the 95 is on top of his list, heck if we can find for $300 im gonna buy one too :D

dont forget your slip on pistol grip (houge) (if i spelled that right) i have a p95 and love it, got the slip on pistol grip with finger grooves and made the grip feel 100 times better almost gives you better confidence strange but the gun feels so good in my hand now, i have put almost 3000 rounds through mine in 3 months using hsm factory re loads which i get for 9 bucks for a box of 50, not one single issue however tul ammo doesnt even fit in the mag correctly, any way love the gun

I paid $300 for mine used. I wouldn't hesitate to buy a used Ruger. It, of course, performed well. I did find that the mag release caused me to inadvertently & unintentionally release the mag on more than one occasion so you may want to watch for that.

JSpear here is an old Gunweek article you can read while you are waiting for a chance to get to the range. http://www.gunweek.com/2005/feature0820.html Someone dug it up & posted it recently over at rugerforum.com. My only experience with the P95 was a few shots at a rental range but I am convinced it's a good gun.

Ruger makes a reliable auto pistol. I have shot a P 85 quite a bit and it is a very reliable gun. I've never had a problem with malfunctioning and the owner of the gun has never had a problem.
