I want to a local gun shop today (yes, incredibly, we still have gunshops in the PRK), to pick up some 7.62X54R. I had been in two weeks prior, but they were out. Well, they are still out. Their supplier can't get any, either, because "everything is being shipped to Afganistan".

***??? Our forces aren't using it. Most of the Afganis are using AK-47s. So who is ordering BRAND-NEW Wolf and Barnaul 7.62X54R? And who is paying for it?

Maybe the Russians have organized some strange ''buy-back'' scheme!:p

Strange... Outdoor America was out of Wolf 7.62x39 (FMJ, HP and SP) last time I went in there... I had to get 11 boxes of Sapsan instead.

If anyone is buying Wolf for military purposes i have a hard time believing that they are getting it from US distributers. It would probably be about 100 times cheaper to buy direct from Russia.

Additionally all of the local trips that fight for/with us in Iraq and Afganistan are using 7.62x39

Sounds like the local gunshop commando is pulling your bolt handle.

You never know what kind of op's might require going undercover with localized weapons.
