Kahr CM9?

I do not own a CM9 yet. I do own a Ruger LC9S and love the gun, have been shooting LC9's since they came out. A great mild shooter that shines at 15 yd. fast point and shoot. However after owning 4 Ruger LCP's and burning out three of them, ( My present one is in retirement. That high five slap of the LCP is ridiculous.) I bought a Beretta Pico and fell totally in love with the gun. Solid built like a tank, great concealment and Super MILD to shoot. In fact I bought another one, Liked it so well. Later I bought the Kahr CW380 and have to say I love that gun as well. After buying the smooth shooting Kahr, got me to thinking about the the CM9. The trigger on the LC9S is very light, almost down to 4 1/2 lbs and crisp. However, since I like the Kahr CW380 so well, my next purchase will be a Kahr, or Nano.
That said, they would have to go along way to beat the reliable and smooth shooting LC9S.

8 years I pocket carry a PM9, greatest small 9mm on the planet for me. I tried them all, get a PM with night sights, and you will have the best little 9mm around.Shop the gun, I have seen them for 500 or less on a flash sale.

Okay so I wanted to come back & touch base on this thread. I bought a CM9 about a month ago.......

The bad, There just isn't much real estate there to put your hands on. I can grip it well enough but I did have once the slide didn't lock back (pretty sure that one was because of my thumb). ....... I like this little gun.
I had a PM9 - neat little reliable gun, but I couldn't get a good grip on it. Gave it to my son. That's why I carry a Kahr CT380 instead of a CW380.

Whenever I buy another Kahr 9mm, it'll be a CW9 - and I'll replace that bulky plastic base plate on the magazine with the offered steel plate to fit more flush. Will carry it in my jacket pocket or cargo shorts in a DeSantis or Remora holster.

Cm9 is a fantastic pistol. However when the g43 came out it mainly stays in the safe. I prefer the glock trigger. Never had a single problem with the cm9. I would reccomend it it you like the long smooth type trigger.

I have a Kahr PM9. I don't carry it a lot anymore since I got a Kel-tec P32, but the PM9 is a fine gun and conceals well in the front pocket with a Desantis Nemesis holster.

I've heard that you are not supposed to shoot lead out of a PM9, does anyone know if that is true?

The concern is the polygonal barrel. I'm not sure if the concern is valid.

Shoulder carry wouldn't work for me. The reason I want something I can conceal better is I am on the security team at church. We don't really want anyone aware of the guns. It is a more difficult place to discreetly carry because people come up & hug you, etc
Instead of going smaller and pocket carry, if I was going to be carrying in a crowded gathering (like a church) I'd rather go larger. First, if you are on the security team, it is no longer just about your personal and family protection, you are being entrusted to help protect everyone. That may mean longer shots. Further, in a crowded area (with possibly longer shots) accuracy will be extremely important, and it is easier to be accurate with a larger gun.

As for the hugging, learn to do the one armed hug, and go in with the opposite arm from the side you carry. Even if you use both arms, learn to favor your non-carry side. No one is going to grab you at the hips (most likely) and if you are really worried about that, go AIWB for your carry position, most certainly no one is going to be touching you there in a church setting.

Oh, in addition to going full size or larger compact, or at least something that performs that way, I can see going single stack so it is more easily concealed. The full-size Kahr (T9 or T40), a SIG P239 (compact, but doesn't perform like it), a 1911 or Commander, could be the compromise you need.

Edit:
I just noticed this thread is a few months old and was re-awoken when you came back with an update with your decision. If you are going to go smaller, a Kahr is a good way to go (quality, and accurate gun). If you decide you need an excuse for another gun, consider my thoughts about your situation :)

Chaim- I don't feel quite ready to trust in the CM9 as primary for that role yet. It is what I bought it for though. I will keep carrying my old XD-40 on my assigned days until I get to spend some more time with the Kahr. Concealed carry is a bit of a curse. I seem to find myself trying different things looking for something better. It is just hard to get enough range time in when you work 6 days a week. I would honestly like to have a commander but that is more because I want one than out of need. I like my 5" SR 1911 but the 5" barrel definitely makes it a touch harder to hide carrying OWB.

Have you tried IWB? The 1911 is quite narrow and thus one of the easiest full sized guns to conceal (though, it may be a bit heavy to carry all day). Get a tuckable IWB holster with a good cant to it and that could be a terrific gun for your situation.

It's smaller, but it isn't small enough for everyday comfortable pocket carry for me.

The CM9 size is shown next to my old P3AT (replaced with an LCP)-it's thick and taller by quite a bit. The photos of the two stacked on top of each other are a bit misleading in width and height differences.
