Just received my December issue of Guns magazine. On page 38 there is a review of the new Kahr CW9 (Concealed Weapon 9). Anyone seen or handled this piece? Dose it's size and 17.7 ounces (unloaded) make it a better carry than the other Kahr's. The suggested retail price seems competitive at $533. I carry a S&W M642, and have wanted a 9mm Kahr for some time now. Is this something I can't do without?

Here's a link to the Kahr page that shows the differences between the CW9 and the P9 - http://www.kahr.com/pistols_9mm.html. They appear to be the same size, but the CW9 has less expensive features. I'm thinking about getting a Kahr to carry, but I'm looking at the PM9, which is smaller (1/2 inch lower and shorter - they are the same thickness.)

Incredible Value 9mm CCW

Hey Slip - I received mine a couple of weeks ago and I am VERY impressed...
Great feel, balance.

Hope to get to the range this weekend to break her in...
I will do a Militec treatment before I go...

Great CCW piece - Slender and lightweight.

Paid $359.99 NIB + $10.50 shipping.

Order a spare mag... CW9 only comes with one but no biggie...

I am SO impressed I am saving pennies for the T9... what a beauty!

The CW 9 is the "Budget" gun in the Kahr line. Some of the differences are that the front sight is pinned instead of dovetailed and the rear sight is standard instead of "low mount." It also only comes with one mag, instead of two. If the gun fits your budget and is the size and weight you want, go for it. It should work as well as the "top of the line" models.

For me, I'm going to get the PM 9. It's the smallest Kahr available and I think to get any smaller in a 9 I'd have to get a Roubaugh. (That's not going to happen anytime soon at about $1,000 a gun).

Cw9

I own a PM40, PM9, and recently purchased a CW9. For concealment purposes Kahr is, by far, the BEST weapon to own. I love all my Kahr pistols, but the CW9 tops them all. The PM40 used to be my favorite but in the PM line you'll notice the only comfortable way to shoot is with the extended mag making it a slower deployment weapon. The CW9 shoots, feels, and looks nice. To top it all off you can purchase these at a much lower cost than any other Kahr firearm. BUT, if you do not like small, skinny grips you will not enjoy shooting ANY Kahr pistol. I have only found one other conceal gun I want more and that would be the Ruger KP345. I know, I know, Ruger pistols :barf: But this no ordinary Ruger, if you get a chance to handle one you will not put it down AND it's a 45 auto!
