When I first started carrying I had a glock 19, which I really liked but could not shoot well. (It was me not the gun). Then I got a CZ75 P01 and carried/shot that for a while. But I got tired of always wearing a holster, iwb, owb, etc. And, though I shoot pistols most. I transitioned to a S&W .38 snub nose in the right front pocket. But I was hankering to go back to a pistol for EDC. Read a lot of good things about the Kahr CW9. Fondled one and knew it was my next pistol.

Took it to the range today and shot it at this IDPA target at 7 and 10 yards. Fast, slow, strong hand only. I LOVE the trigger. 10 magazines, 71 rounds of mixed ammo.

14 of winchester 124 gr fmj

14 remington 115 gr fmj

14 wincester white box 115 gr fmj

21 of my reloads 115 gr fmj over 5.6 grains of unique

8 winchester 115 gr HP

Did not experience a single hiccup... the gun ran flawlessly. After the 200 round break in she will become my EDC. Thanks to all who posted on this piece.

best regards,

Luis Leon

I recently switched to a Kahr P9 as my CCW. It's hard to imagine a gun better suited to concealed carry. I'm sure your CW9 will serve you well.

Wait until you try the CW 40......same size only in hot .40 caliber.

I think the CW9 has the best rep of any gun Kahr makes with the PM9 right behind it.
I just wish Glock could learn to make a gun as thin as Kahr and they would have a smash hit on their hands.
I held the PM45 a week or so ago and about fell in love with the gun.
Amazingly small gun for a .45

It looks like Kahr has the concealed carry market niche in firm control with single stack auto loaders. Kel Tec is in hot pursuit and doing well also.

In my opinion, Glock does not want or need any part of this market with the sales volumes they already have. This was a very smart move by Kahr and Kel Tec.

Thanks for the replies gentlemen. I took another trip to the range today with the CW. It fired without a hiccup 72 of my reloads. My round count is now up to 143 rounds. Fast approaching that 200 round break in. Attached is a IDPA target shot at 10 and 15 yards. Ordered two magazines today. By the time they arrive the CW9 will be ready for everyday carry.

best regards,

Luis Leon

I have put about 600 rounds through mine with nary a problem. Great little

gun. I liked it so much I bought a CW45. Next up the P380.

I can already see a pm9 in my future. For the wife, of course. Wink, wink...

I shot the CW 9 in an IDPA style course of fire last Tuesday. I had one failure to lock back on an empty magazine. Which I attributed to me hitting the slide stop while shooting. Otherwise she ran fine through the 60 round course of fire.

best regards,

Luis Leon

I have had my PM9 for about 3 years.
I have @ 3000rnds thru it and really like the pistol.
I recently purchased a P45 as a project.
I shortened the grip length to use the 5rnd and 6rnd PM45 mags.
I also reshaped the bulky mag floor plates.
Its no harder to shoot than my springfield 4" compact alloy frame 1911.
Its smaller in all demensions to my springfield.
The modified P45 is my every day carry now.
A lot to like about kahr pistiols for CCW.
