Kahr people, which one would you rather own?

I found that the R9 made it very easy to carry around the house. I don't really consciously do it, I come home from running errands and the R9 just stays in the pocket. I sit down to watch TV or something and I hardly notice it is there.

I'll just tell you my story, I had a similar choice the CM9s had just been announced when I had a chance to buy a lightly used PM9 for $470 and I have no regrets in doing just that as my PM9 is reliable and the trigger is very smooth and basicly it was just broken in. Now that the CM9s are readily avaliable and in the low 300s and if I didn't know the PM was reliable I think I'd go that way now.

I'm wondering about the difference in the break in though.

I always clean and lube a new gun before going to the range, but I wonder if the PM9 needs less fluff & buff.

I know the break-in steps outlined by jocko on the KahrTalk forum aren't fluff & buff, but I've read a lot of reports of owners needing to take a Dremel to the CM9 to polish it up or even remove burrs.

I generally don't hear that about the PM9

When I bought my PM9, I treated it no different than any other new firearm that I would buy.
When I got it home I stripped it down, cleaned off/out all the factory lube. I ran a couple of patches wet with FP-10 thru the barrel, applied TW25-b to the rails.
I took the mags apart to be sure they were clean inside, they were. And they were assembled correctly from the mfg.
Next day off to the range where I put 425 rds. of various types of full power 9mm ammo thru the PM9 with 0 malfunctions.
I did experience two magazines that failed. They split down the back side edges.
They were replaced by Kahr.
And NO, I did not "rack" the slide 500 times or more prior to my first rage session. I see no need for such foolishness and my initial experience with my PM9 proves that.

It must be the weather down here Jim, Mine is exactly the same, anything I put in it comes out the other side.

My PM9 has 2,197 rds. thru it. As long as the parts don't break, it runs great with any ammo.
It has broken three mag followers and three recoil assemblies have failed.
One new assembly failed after only 37 rds.!
Kahr has replaced the recoil assemblies when they have broken. In fact, I have a couple of spares just in case. ;)
Mine is one that had to go back to have the feed ramp re-worked to correct the followers breaking.
I still think it is a well made little pistol and yes, I am currently carrying it on a daily basis.

I traded a M&P 9C for mine to a retired Chicago cop. He just wanted a larger gun and I wanted a smaller one. He told me that the gun had gone back to Kahr for a feed ramp issue, and they had polished the entire guns internals and the barrel on the house. I completely believe him, as he was the least handy person I ever met, he even took 2 perfectly new kahr mags and sanded down the bases to get rid of the extended finger rest, ruined both of them by sanding or grinding all the way through to the pin.
I know if he had touched the gun, it would be obvious. So 2 pierce mag finger rests and I had 5 plus 1, 7 rounder I purchased, gave me 6 new mags. The gun is smooth as a newborns rear. They even polished the mag release and trigger, it looks like nickel. Very nice little gem.

I have both a PM9 and a CM9. I rotate carrying one or the other and I don't see any difference between the two as far as accuracy function and reliability goes.

The PM9 is older so it's 1/8 inch shorter but they're both extremely easy to carry. The bottom tips of both feed ramps are filed down slightly so I've never had any broken followers and reliability isn't affected in any way.

They have their quirks but they're two of the most reliable feeding and firing guns that I've ever owned, even when dirty. They're also very accurate.
