Congratulation Kansans... now don't hold your breath, because the same thing happened in Missouri (overrode the veto of Dem Holden). Then suit was filed by Sheriffs over a revenue issue to gum up the works.

I hope it doesn't happen to you. Took us two years to get all the counties and the City of St. Louis to issue (city doesn't have a county).

    Great news Kansas!

Now, vote that governor out the next time she is up for election. Send a clear message. Also get out and apply for permits in mass.

    From an AP news report:

Okay, we need a lottery for the bets on which of those 3 states falls next and when.

MD doesn't count as having concealed-carry, unless there's a little-known way to get them to issue.

Do you have a link to the new law?
I'd like to read the reciprocity and off-limits provisions.

I pick Nebraska at 1-1 odds this year.

Wisconsin will probably get it next year. Just so they can say that they're not as dumb as us Flatlanders. Aka: Illinoisians.

Illinois, I hope to see it in my lifetime......Maybe when a Republican gets elected Mayor of Chicago......:banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

It was a long time in coming. CCW wouldn't be here now if it weren't for Senator Phil Journey (R) and Rep. Candy Ruff (D).

I'm glad to see it finally arrived.

Congratulations Kansas! I live on the Missouri side of the state line and travel into Kansas almost daily. It is good to know that your state has finally opted to uphold the right of its' citizens to protect themselves and their families.

I am a law enforcement officer and have seen ZERO justification for the hype and concerns regarding lawful persons carrying a firearm. Those whom I have encountered on the job have been very level-headed and easy to deal with (As one would expect of a responsible adult).

Excercise your rights, and do so responsibly. Again....Congrats!

I expect that Nebraska's CCW law (LB454) will be passed within the next 3 weeks. It's already passed with 33/49 votes in General File and Select File including 2 clotures of an attempted fillibuster.

The "Final Reading" is all that remains in our Unicameral...Nebraska is the only state with only 1 legislative body.

Our governer has said that he is in favor of it and will sign it.

This legislative session closes on April 12th.

    Yahoooo!
Unfortunately, as a teacher I won't be able to carry on the job, but I may still apply for one. I open carry all the time on my farm.

    Splendid!

Only a few states to go -- and I consider "may issue" states among them.
