I enherited a KAR 98 efurt 1916 carbine. The stock was cut down some time ago (1950's?) so it's orginiality is lost. However, I understand the muzzel cover is a very rare item to collectors because most were lost. Mine has one on it in perfect shape, so any idea what it might be worth?

    Thanks

The cover or the rifle? Check ebay for the covers. They go for $5-$25, depending on it's condition and scarcity.

No, this one has a metal cap piece that fits over the end of the barrel to protect it. I'll see if I can take a picture and post it. Seems most of the museum examples are missing theirs. was just wondering if it was worth more than the gun itself.
