Just tried it out today and sighted in at 25 yards with some 147 grain Berrys hand loads. No failures even with these minimum charge loads. It does dump brass in the crook of my off hand elbow though.

Anyone else have to smoosh their face against the buffer tube to see the sights? I’d like to avoid a red dot to save the folding feature but this may take some getting used to.

You do have to really squish your cheek down to use the factory sights. MCarbo makes a replacement rear sight that is reputed to be better, and MCarbo and Midwest Industries both make folding red dot mounts. I have the MI mount and it works well.

I like mine a lot. Enjoy yours!

That one issue aside I do like it. It’s oddly smooth. I ran it with a Glock 33 round mag but didn’t fill it up. I just put enough in there to slight in. I’d like to sight in for a 6 o’clock hold on a 6” or 8” target at 50 yards. Any sight in distance suggestions?

I installed the higher sight, yes it cost $69.?, but does make a difference.I keep my red dot under the foregrip and goes on in a couple seconds. But it is my home defence gun.

Ok like on a QD mount? I don’t want to hang too much on it and ruin the weight and folding feature. I’m used to the peeps on my M16 A4gery and Tech Sights on my Marlin. By the time I get a good load developed I should be used to it.

Yes a one inch QD and there isn't a weight problem.

If it didn’t come with any rubber on bolt tube, that’s a good accessory to have. Keeps your cheek warmer in the winter and absorbs a little recoil.

Www.tacticoolproducts.com makes a rubber covering for the tube.

Good luck with your new gun!

First goal is to put a couple full mags through it. By then I should have a better idea if I want to change anything or just adapt myself.

Next time the Pic rail comes loose on my Victory pistol I may pull the red dot off and see how I like it on the S2K. I just have to find the box with the riser mount.

Is there a recommended bag or something to carry/store these? It seems heavy for the regular pack I have already.

I haven't noticed anything uncomfortable about my Sub-2000's sights, and it was right on target out of the box with 115 gr FMJs. The whole thing was pretty much turnkey.

The first time I held it up I thought the same thing. Trying to rest it on a table or front rest makes it a little odd.

Same, with shoulder strap, as inconspicuous as you can get.

    Plus pocket for extra mags.

Now that’s a good idea. I’ll look around and see what I can find

Gone thru' two of these, and ergonomic issues are the main thing that sent them down the road; yeah, it's tough to get a good cheek weld with the OEM sights.
The MCarbo sights are some help. The tube cover is as well. MCarbo also makes a heavier bolt charging handle; the combination is easier to operate, and the extra mass slows down the bolt/lessens recoil.
Wish KelTec executed their stuff to a higher quality level; their engineering is amazing.

I had one and sold it for that very reason. I have a wide face and trying to get my cheek against the recoil tube was a real pain, literally. I liked the rifle and the folding feature was an excellent idea. We just didn't get along.

If the sight height remains an issue I'll probably pull the red dot off my pistol and use it here. I like peep sights but the notch sights are a bit higher still. That might be the way to go.

Perzactly. And it is an incredibly clever idea; totally (obviously) safe when folded, probably not actually illegal anywhere (mag capacity, maybe), uses mags most have, light, compact, and mine always ran.
Dammit, KelTec, make it a little better, and do something about the sights. Please?

Are adjustable stocks, as on the 2nd gen, a no no in some places?
