I'm not sure how key the UROC is, but I received this from Ron Paul's campaign group. As one of Boats' "Ron Paul toadys," I guess I'm qualified to post this. ;)

May 22, 2007

ARLINGTON, VA – The United Republicans of California (UROC) have unanimously endorsed Congressman Ron Paul for president of the United States. UROC, formed in 1963 to support Barry Goldwater, represents the traditional conservative wing of the California Republican Party.

"The unanimous endorsement from the United Republicans of California proves what the campaign has been saying all along," said campaign chairman Kent Snyder. "Ron Paul is the only true conservative and real Republican in the race."

In their official statement endorsing Dr. Paul, UROC called him "the leading advocate for freedom in our nation’s capital" and recognized that:

Ron Paul's voting record demonstrates that he has voted against:

· raising taxes;
· unbalanced budgets;
· a federal restriction on gun ownership;
· raising congressional pay; or
· increasing the power of the executive branch.

His voting record demonstrates further that he voted against:

· the USA Patriot Act;
· regulating the Internet; and
· the war in Iraq.

Dr. Paul is the only candidate with a record that matches the UROC’s platform.

"Whether the issue is life, the Second Amendment, foreign policy, spending or taxes, Ron Paul is the only traditional conservative candidate," continued Snyder. "Traditional conservatives across the country should support Ron Paul for president."

California Republicans are a powerful group, just look at how they've kept power in their own state! Just look at how free they've made Cali gun owners! Why, I bow down to their mastery of their political arena! With a powerhouse like that behind him, Paul can't lose! Look out Hillary, here comes Ron Paul and the Californicator RINO's! :rolleyes:

California Republicans are a powerful group
I was wondering about the relationship between the UROC and the regular California Republican Party. Can you enlighten us ?

If not, thanks anyway for posting. It keeps this thread near the top. :cool:

As a Californian who got to vote for Reagan at 18, a California gun owner, a California libertarian, and a fan of Barry Goldwater, I've never heard of the UROC.

That doesn't mean they aren't important, I guess. But I can't see where they have more influence on California politics than your average rainbow trout.

This thread is such a sham. Surprise! A group of Ron Paul clones endorses Ron Paul. How compelling.:rolleyes:

Paul may be a good guy, but the thread title is blatant hyperbole.

Sorry, no horse in this race, but I love the name.

UROC! Because You ROCK! All rock! All day! UROC!

The good guys always prevail only in fairytales.
In real life, some people are willing to pick up a desperate fight and lose with honor while others like you would rather compromise, collaborate and taunt the losers. :barf:
