Kimber 1911's

I'll give you my personal experience alone.

After doing much research before buying my first 1911. I did alot of reading on here as well as other forums. I read about reliability, ammo feeding problems, range reports, prices,etc....

At the time I was set on getting a Dan Wesson CBOB. Then DW discontinued that line and raised the prices, alot! I decided it wasn't worth it.

I read up on just about every sort of 1911 on the market. I saw threads griping about every 1911 I researched. I found that the number of kimbers made vs the number of problematic ones was not a big deal. There is no manufacturer of 1911's that every single purchaser is happy with. In fact, compare the number of 1911's DW makes ve the number kimber makes and you'll find that kimber's quality is better overall.

I decided on a pro carry 2. After several hundred rounds of wwb's I tried some winchester dpx's. I had two fail to feeds in 40rds. After going through all of those I fed it some more wwb's and bought two wilson 47d's. I swithced ammo to winchester rangers and gold dot, both 230gr +p. It feeds these reliably every time.

The kimber pro carry 2 is my carry gun and I plan on getting another kimber one day.

Now let's see em!

Strange, I'd stake my life on mine. If I wanted a cheap POS mass produced gun, I go and get a Glock (NOT) for competition.

i like the pro carry ss but all of the problems i've encountered with them have scared me off.....both on the internet and in real life from people i know. i've also shot a few problematic ones....just kind of cautious about spending money on them
