Went to the range and shoot a 1911 Colt some It felt very good. Been lookin at Glock and Ruger being this might be the last carry gun I ever get I want to check them all out. They had a new Kimber BP10 2 for $549.00. I felt really good in my hand. I know the Kimber was at one time a top of the line gun but I was wondering if any of you have or have shot the BP10?? At the store they told me that the BP10 was as accurate as the higher priced Kimbers and the only difference is the poly(?) frame. Is this true?? Also do you or have you had any trouble with your kimber and how would you rate them with the other 45s out their dollar for dollar??One thing I liked after using the ragged hole on my Ruger alot of places make the Ghost Sight for the Kimber I've read a few places about the quality of Kimber has gone down hill What do you think???

I was about to puchase a SS Polymer Kimber, but found out that extra mags were pushing $40.....

Check out 1911forum.com, seems that the majority of people don't like them. Probably just because it isn't the way the JMB designed the gun.

As far a Kimber quality, I think it is fine. People bitch because they don't like the "non-traditional" features that Kimber is putting on their guns. Also, everyone screws up and sends a lemon out once in a while, but the few who get them never quit complaining and posting bad reviews.

If the gun shot well for YOU and YOU like it, then buy it. Does it really matter what everyone else thinks?

Wonder how long it will be before someone recommends you buy the Colt NRM instead?:neener:

Not sure about that model. But not crazy about Polymer 1911's as far as kimber quality its touch and go. There service is not the greatest thats for Sure. I personally will not buy another Kimber but thats just me. Good Luck with what ever you decide on.

I have 2 Kimbers I shoot Win .45 box of 100 $19.95 at Wallys. My Custom Tle 11 would sometimes jam till 200-300 rds and now perfect. The Poly Pro Carry with the 14 rd. mag won't shoot a full mag, replaced the mag with a 10 rounder and shoots all day long.Kimbers are good guns but they won't tell you about the crappy mags that make you think the gun is at fault would have saved me a lot of grief.

Seems like most entry level 1911's come with crap mags.

Guess it's cheaper to buy quality mags than to buy a Wilson CQB which comes with two 47D's.

Throw away your factory mags and buy quality ones, either CMC, Wilson, Metalform or Cobra.

The poly Kimbers have been nothing but trouble and we stopped selling them, nore can we get more mags.

Nothing to do with tradition, crap is crap. Get a Wilson RZ compact if you want plastic. Bren

IMO Bren is correct, the ultra ten I owned was not a good gun for the high price, the mags are hard to find, expensive, and some don't work well, I had to work on the gun extensively to make it function good enough to sell.
All in all a bad experience:cuss: .....tom
