If I had 2k I would by a Nighthawk and I may very well be the biggest fan of Kimber on this forum.

I'm a Kimber fan too. I've had a lot of Kimbers over the years and still own four that I would not part with. However, I can't see any stock Kimber being worth close to 2K.

    Best regards.

I don't mind paying too much for a gun if I want it, but $2000 for a Kimber?

I paid $1000 for a Stainless Gold Match 10 years ago and I've been very happy with it. I didn't think their more expensive guns were worth it then and $2000 now is out of the question.

when you can get a les baer premier II for less, the kimber seems kind of pricey.

No. I have shot head-to-head the Kimber "Gold" guns and they do not perform like custom and semi custom guns. They perform more like Colt XSE series - meaning great, but not "crazy money" great.

Look at some used custom built Caspians by good gunmakers, a Colt Special Combat, Les Baer, and other high-end guns lightly used in that price range.

For $2 grand, I would buy me another 5" Les Baer Thunder Ranch Special
in .45 ACP~! Absolutely, the best on the market; however some of the
manufactuer's are coming on strong; like Nighthawk, Ed Brown, Wilson,
    STI. etc. ;) :D
