Kimber KPD for $415 on Impactguns....

I noticed that impactguns.com is advertising the new Kimber KPD for $415...

Anyone know if this means the gun is finally going to hit the market pretty soon or already has?

I didn't figure this gun would sell in the sub-$500 price range and I am now more intrigued by it.

They don't exist. Kimber has never made any. They are listed for sale on a few websites but if you notice none of those sites say "In Stock" next to the order button...

What does it have to do with the M&P? There are plenty of striker fire/dao hi-cap polymer handguns that all compete in the same market.
M&P, XD, Glock, PX4, SR9, FNP, 24/7, H&K...

What does the fact that the M&P came to a market that already had plenty of players in it, have to do with the KPD?
Is there something I am missing here?

The KPD looks to be virtually the same gun as the MP, just not quite as well executed. That's what it has to do with the MP. The market is already flooded with high capacity polymer frame guns. Releasing one that looks to be virtually the same as one that's already out and established just doesn't make sense. Think back to the Sigma trying to compete with Glock. It couldn't do it. It looked like a Glock, but just wasn't quite up to the same standard. Well now the MP has outglocked the Glock, along comes the KPD that doesn't offer anything that the MP doesn't, it's just not going to go anywhere. Take the KPD, put HK P30 style grips, give it a trigger that could compete with a 1911, then we have something that can compete with the MP, probably even displace it. As it stands now though, the KPD wouldn't do that well.

I have to say that I'm disappointed. I would think Kimber would do pretty well with this handgun line. There's a few 1911 purists who probably would have bought one, simply because it's a Kimber.

But I guess Wilson had the same thought with that polymer striker fired thing they came out with a few years ago.....maybe not as good an idea as I thought.....
