As a custom holster maker, we've recently had come into the shop a genuine Kimber Ultra Carry. Often when contacting a gun manufacturer for a gun, we get a "dummy" gun. In this instance, Kimber only provides the real thing. We get to keep it for a period of time in order to make/mold as many holsters as we can. At the end of the period, we then have the option of sending it back to Kimber or purchasing it.

I'm seriously considering making a permanent spot for it in my gun safe. However, before I make room for it, I'd like to see/hear what others have to say about it, good or bad. I've heard some initial good and bad, just want to hear more.

Your comments?

The Kimber UC is my daily carry piece. I probably have a couple of thousand rounds through it. Had feed problems with the Kimber mags, got Wilson's and never had another problem. Once ran it for 500 rounds without cleaning and it never bobbled a single time. Surprisingly accurate. My wife loves it. Can't say anything bad about it.

I have the CDP version of hte Ultra Carry. Very accurate. Very nice trigger. Good sights. Has eaten every thing I fed it even with cheap mags.

I say keep it.

The Ultra Carry was my carry gun until I got a Tactical Ultra ll.
I put a Laser Grip on the Ultra Carry and now it's the night stand gun or night time carry gun.

I like mine a lot. Good trigger, scary accurate, thoroughly reliable, and easy to conceal. I added Ashley Express Big Dot sights (now XS 24/7) and rosewood grips. It was a bit sensitive to limp wristing (operator error), but I got over it.
