Krag Sporter Rear Sight

I have a sporterized Krag rifle. When it was sporterized someone cut a dovetail slot across the barrel for some kind of rear sight. Anyone have any idea what kind of sight would fit that dovetail? It's about .540" wide instead of the usual 3/8" wide dovetail.

Hard to say as there were it seems a thousand different dovetails back then. You might check with williams gun sights or Lyman. Also check to see if Numrich might have something for you.
