I use a
Comp-tac CTAC holster for my M&Ps. I have a 9, 40, and 9c. I bought the "slide" version, which basically shortens the length of the holster and makes it perfect for carry with either the full size (sticks out just a little) or the compact.
It took me about a week to get used to the holster, but I absolutely love it now. It is a very comfortable IWB option (albeit, a bit pricey).
I carry the M&P frequently, but when I'm out on my farm, I usually carry my G19 in a Fobus. The Fobus holster is a cheap option and has been very adequate for OWB carry so far.
I have a Blackhawk Serpa for my G19 too. It's nice, but I despise the paddle on it, and I prefer paddles. When I wear OWB, I typically don't need any significant retention, so the Fobus gets the nod over the Blackhawk. But it's nice to have the Blackhawk as an option.
I have a fobus for just about every gun I own, although the only one that gets used is the one for my G19. I will be getting a Fobus for my M&P as well at some point, but they are still scarce (especially for us lefty's).
There are lots of options at lots of different price points. Knowing what I know now, for a good all-around holster I would go with Comp-tac.
Good luck with your decision.
