Mods, if this should be in roundtable, please move.

Sandy and I made the three hour drive to Johnstown CO for the Alan Albertus Memorial Picnic. Absolutely AWESOME turnout . Not many HighRoaders there, but considering the weekend...

fivetoes was there, also Zak Smith and Sasha "Imagino" (I think).

The memorial began with the Drum and Fife Corps (which I understand, was formed with the help of Alan, our friend Labrade) marching down the street. I assumed they were part of the Johnstown Memorial Day celebration:

What a great way to remember a great man.
    Is this the "first anual"?

Great Larry - what a send-off and tribute. Thx for posting.

Were it not for my extreme distance .. I should have liked to be there too.

Wish Alan could know just how many friends he had.

The Tyranny Response Team (another of Al's creations, I understand) showed up with the barbeque:

WE presented a plaque to Crystal after lunch. Tom Buchanan (fivetoes) did the speech, all I had to do was hug Crystal. This is from ALL of you:
Many tears all around. Crystal kept saying "Thank You". I said "It's from all 14,000 of us, she said "I know, thank you".

Some of Shane's artwork. Keep in mind he is rejecting his heart. Beautiful...

    Forgot to add something...

One of Al & Crystal's friends was handing out little slips of paper saying:

    July 2 is Crystal's birthday
If you would like to send a card:

    Crystal Albertus
    c/o PO Box 249
    Niwot, CO 80544

    Please do, folks.

Larry and the other THR members who attended -

Many thanks for taking the time to be part of this special celebration and memorial, and for extending the message from all of us here.
