Labradar worth the money difference over standard chrno?

Get a USB battery and learn how to aim it properly and you won't regret purchasing it.

Just remember to arm it before you start shooting a string.

Very convenient. But, keep in mind, it's very fragile. Mine is in for three separate failures right now. My friend has a non functional unit as well after it flipped over while a few inches off the ground.

I'll pay for the repairs, and it will be worth the convenience.

Just don't expect field grade durability from a Labradar.

Was very tempted to buy one early last year when the price fell to $500 shipped. But I already had a chrono so I just bought 15k more primers instead. No regrets.

Want one. But my Caldwell unit hooked up to my iPad does all I need for my load development at the moment.

I only use it for new loads which happens less than I initially thought it would.

Here is a snip from my last outing where I ran 14 different loads. I've got another batch to run with my cast bullets but so far only have the 45acp ready and I'll be doing 9mm and 44 mag also.

Not bad for $68 total after tax

How do you get the altitude input, I am using a samsung 10 and for some reason it's not picking up the sensor and I can edit it.

I ordered the battery pack but I have access to AC power and the padded case. Stuck in a frozen trailer somewhere in Kansas as I type this.

Do you recommend the aiming sights sold on egay to help with target sighting?

I found a sight for mine that attached over the notch on top using the screw located there. It's helped a lot and still fits in the padded case. I can't remember which one but it was around $20.

I like my LabRadar a lot. For .22 LR, you may want to get the optional Rim Fire mike pick up. I use that for my rim fire as well as for pellet guns.

At my home club, we have to shoot rifles through 30' of Concrete tunnel. Don't ask! The echos causes a problem with my unit so I either set up my oldr chrono unit at the other end of the tunnel, or move the rifle and LabRadar back further on the bench. Since you can change how it senses, some experimentation can resolve it.

There is a guy over on www.AccurateShooter.com that makes a small, collapsible bench stand for the LabRadar that works great. That is what I use now, but not shown here.

I recommend something - what I use is an old Bic pen with the ink tube removed. The pen lays in the V pretty well and is a peep sight, I use a piece of blue tape that keeps it there. Others have used a cheap plastic square you hold on the back. Anything to increase the sight radius. The beam isn’t very big hence the need to have the unit aligned ver well. Good luck.

Mine arrived today from MidwayUSA, along with the table-top tripod and a case. I will open it all up this weekend and maybe try it on Sunday at the range. I always wanted a chronograph but the pain-in-the-butt factor for setting it up and the seemingly unavoidable target practice with the chrono as the target always made me give up before placing the order. Labradar is expensive, but if it works, it's worth it.

It works and is worth the money to me. I bought the sight off e bay. I used a straw etc but I like the look of a nice sight instead of a straw and piece of tape. I can set it up real, quick and get my data, highly recommended.

I just hot glued a small diameter plastic tube into the v notch on top of the Labradar, it was free and works as well as any sight you can put on it.

Great unit so I'm sure you'll love it. As others have said, you need an external battery supply for it. It chews up batteries within on use.
