Was just at the local gunstore...they had a few bandoliers of LC .30-06 on Garand clips (48 rounds per bandolier) for $16.99+tax (meaning around $17.50) per bandolier.

Grab it post haste? Grab it if I'm running low on Garand ammo? Or just let it go?

Sixteen cents a shot. $192.00 plus shipping per 960 from the CMP. That's 20 cents a shot. Grab as much as you can afford from your local shop.

OK, I dorked up the math on the sales tax...price with tax is $18.43 for 48 rnds on clips. That's $0.384 per round.

LC M2 .30-06 from CMP is $230/960 rounds, shipped, loose. $0.238 per round.

I think I'll do it. Support the local guy and all. Even if everything else in his shop is way overpriced. ($110 for 500 rounds of Wolf 7.62x39)

I paid 100.00 / 500 last weekend at a gun show. With the shortage, I think your prices are average

Yeah, that price for Wolf is about what everyone is charging these days. That might actually be on the low side some places.

(Scratch that comment. I thought you meant for a 1000. I paid $135 for 1000 rounds a few weeks ago. There is brass ammo available for that price.)

Just a thought, are you sure this is Lake City ammo? It is not Greek or Korean? I have heard the Greek is good, but normally the Korean is what the shops have. I have some Korean that works well enough but it is something like $150 or $160 for 980 rounds.

Langenator,

USGI M2 ball ammo from the CMP is not shipped loose. It's packaged 20 rounds per box, 12 boxes per ammo can, 4 cans per case (960 rounds).
