Got off the phone a couple hours ago with a sales guy from a large dealer/wholesaler who is generally regarded well here when mentioned. They had just closed down for the day but he was still willing to check a few things for me and mentioned that they had been told to expect prices to rise on Wednesday and that I should call back tomorrow. Maybe I'm a sucker but in this case the guy's tip seemed pretty sincere..... Went ahead and ordered up my stuff this evening online. Anybody else ordering tonight/tomorrow to get in before the price jump?

My local Sportsman's Warehouse is already sold out of most of the more common rifle powders, though they still have plenty of loaded ammo.

While I was there, a store employee led a customer to the shelves with the boxes of bullets, and the guy told him, 'no, I'm not a reloader, I just want bullets for my .45.' :banghead:

I've heard similar reports from people and have posted on other boards about it. It is a load of poo. they will be raising prices soley to pray on the fears of people and to price gouge. Obama can't ban the guns and their aren't enough Dems in Congress that are anti-gun.
With the people in now there will not be another ban.

That being said, I've got both AR's and will stock up on pmags tomorrow while they are still available.

I was told AR15's were going up 10$this month and 10% by end of year after picking up my handgun today. NOt sure if it is real, or just price gouging due ot election. Either way, with I had started my firearm purchases earlier.

I was also told how ammo has skyrocketed.. used to get case(1000) 7.62x39 for $65, (I assume pre-ban) now it's $250. They don't have to ban firearms, just the ammo. So then, maybe if you reload, you can shoot, probably not too many criminals reload.

The sprortsman's in tucson az in always out of powder and usually out of small pistol powders. I am frustrated every time I go there. I have been stocking up on ammo for awhile but I'll wait and see how the prices play out on wednesday. I hope nothing serious happens.

No offense, but someone needs to beam Mr. Scott up to reality.

There are plenty of Dems in Congress to get the anti-gun job done. Those that are pro-gun are going to have plenty of pressure on them to vote along party lines and I believe it will most likely happen.

I've said many times before, it won't be a full frontal assault on the 2nd amendment, it will be a side attack on types of guns, magazine capacity, numbers of guns allowed to be purchased, waiting periods, taxes on all gun related items, etc....

The scary thing is going to be if the Senate goes 60+ to the Dems, then we are literally screwed in this country.

Things are getting pretty interesting. In the last two weeks, I've been in probably four gun stores. Used to be I would just see someone filling out yellow form once in a while, but in the last 2 weeks every store I walked into had one or more persons filling out the form and I could tell by some of the conversations, many of those people had never owned a firearm before in their life.

I was looking for an AR platform rifle in .308. Found what I wanted made by RRA and DPMS. Not many on the shelves here in Oklahoma City but there's a Kitchen Table FFL here that makes his living building them.

Contacted him and he said that most of the AR makers were holding on to their stock anticipating a big price increase if the messiah won but he'd try. He's called both RRA and DPMS trying to get the model I wanted with no luck. Not taking orders right now according to him.

Or NOT. He may just be blowing smoke and saying that in an effort to get me to buy something he has in stock - which I would - if he had what I wanted - in stock.

CDNN raised prices in the last day or two, it seems to be mostly on the stuff they still have in stock. The out of stock stuff seems to have stayed the same list price, not that it matters at all.

I am sick of price gouging. Since when was a case of 7.62 x 39 worth $250?! That's just ridiculous. Jeez, greedy people.

Thank goodness for Academy Sports and their $150/1000 sale a few weeks ago :)

In March-April of next year when there is still no new gun legislation even on the horizon Glock mags will be $8 a pop and like-new ARs will be going for 75 cents on the dollar.
