Latest cartridge you're reloading?

Found some new old stock Hornady # 2280 bullets (no longer made) last weekend for $25.00. They are 0.227" and 70 grains designed for the 22 Savage High Power. I've been casting and coating for my Son's 109 year old Savage HP. Not getting the results I want. I'm gonna load up 12 rounds of the Hornady tomorrow morning with Reloder 7 and send them down range Sunday morning. I'll also be going back to buy the other three boxes they had.

Loaded up the 12 rounds this morning.

Left to right: 1) 30-30 Win parent case, 2) case after Redding forming die, 3) case after RCBS 22 Sav sizing die, 4) dummy round with cast and coated Lyman # 22835, 5) dummy round with Hornady #2280 6) Factory S&B 5.56x52R

I'll be at the range at daylight and shoot 'em over the chronograph.

.327 Federal is the latest and greatest cartridge I am loading for. A Ruger SP 101 4.2” is the most recent “new-cartridge” gun I have bought… since my .32 H&R Bisley came home about two years ago. :)

Luckily they use the same dies and bullets, so the extra cost of reloading this newest cartridge is just tied up in buying new .327 cases (I’ve only found 300 so far, they’re pretty scarce.)

Stay safe.

Reloading for 50AE, for the Desert Eagle. I'm using Berry 300 gr RN and H110. Just a great handful to reload for, and a definite money saver when compared to factory loads. Also reloading a new load, for the Desert Eagle 44 mag barrel, that differs from other 44's shot out of my revolvers, using 2400 and Xtreme 200 gr. plated. I don't use my cast SWC 240 gr. for the semi auto. so also new, and fun to find that perfect load.

The newest calibers for me are 32acp and 7.62x38R (Nagant revolver).

I liked the challenge of the Nagant loads. One way to create loads for the Nagant is to trim the brass short and load like you would for any revolver, but I wanted to stay with the original gas-seal cartridge. I also decided to step a little outside my comfort zone, and develop my loads using BE86 powder, for which there is no published data. I worked from published loads of similar burn rate powders, and stayed on the conservative side. I used cast bullets from Meister, and had to size them down to .311. I also had a problem with the final crimp causing the case right behind the crimp to expand enough to prevent chambering in the cylinder, so I had to run them back through the sizing die again, just kissing the case enough to fix the problem area (careful not to swage the seated bullet smaller). I ended up with a load that is much more accurate than the factory ammo I have tried (PPU and Fiocchi - both have .308 diamter bullets).

Not too long ago, I also started loading 429DE. I had no factory ammo to start with, so I had to use 50AE brass and neck them down to 429.

If I ever start it, it will be 9mm. Actually, it would be restart it. I loaded it with a Whack a mole about 20 years ago, but got out of 9mm shortly afterwards. I got back into 9mm last year when a G2c fell into my hands, then I got a Gx4. Still haven't bought dies or bullets. I have plenty of brass, primers, and some powder.

Inspired by the "first caliber reloaded thread," what is the latest cartridge you have begun reloading?
Thanks to @Axis II, I am thinking about 350 Legend ...

Nothing fancy for me; 45 Colt.

These last 10 years or so, I really like these medium power big bore loads. I'd be hard put to choose between 45 Colt or 44 Magnum, but would probably go with 44 Magnum in the end. Stronger brass, a bit smaller diameter, so it'll be better at 100 yards out of my rifle. Stronger guns too, so there's never a quesiton. They're so easy to handle, compared to something like 9x19.

Been fooling with 6.5 Grendel most of this year. Still have some work to do with it before I feel like I have all the loads I want. Next up will be 7.62 Tokarev, although it will be a while before I really have time to fool with it. I think some firebreathing loads based on 2400 should be fun.

I know it's a little late, but I'm dialing in a load right now for 450 Bushmaster in the Ruger American Woody of mine. Been so so busy all yr, the season starts next Tuesday and I'll hopefully have it wrapped up tomorrow afternoon and sighted.

Been getting good results with close to 35gr of Lil Gun and a 250 FTX, right at 2200fps out that 22" barrel. These next couple groups hold, I'll nake the minor adjustments to the scope and call it good
