Has anyone seen one of the new Marlin LC Smith shotguns yet. They aren't available in northern Michigan yet. I hope they don't take as long as Ruger and Weatherby did to get them out.

I posted almost the exact same question on another site and so far, after a couple of days, I have zero replies. I went to my local gunshop the other day and asked about it. The store owner was well aware of the gun, and didn't seem hopeful of seeing one for a while. Marlin probably doesn't even have them yet. They need to be shipped from Italy and then from Marlin to the distributors, and it might be a year or more before we see one in a store. I would like to get one myself. Seems like the perfect comfort go to shotgun for all field purposes, i.e., not a showpiece, but meant to be used and used, and passed down. Can't wait so see one.

I'm guessing it won't be that long.

One dealer at GunsAmerica has 2 O/U's listed; there's a half dozen or so at Gunbroker including SxS's

GA-O/U

GB-SxS

Unless I'm not searching correctly, the Marlin-Smiths are just about even with Ruger Gold Label listings on Gunbroker.

Local shop dude should abandon conjecture and get on the phone.

I notice that the picture at GB is the same one posted at the Marlin site. Wonder if they actually have one in stock.

That is a good point. You wouldn't think they could sell something they don't have.

I'd bet a donut that that particular seller had it in stock - near 1400 positive feedbacks with no negatives in the last 120 days just doesn't say "scam artist" to me.

Out of curiosity, I called my dealer. Took him exactly 15 seconds to locate a Marlin / Smith O/U at one of his distributors. The SxS would take some hunting.

I'd have a word with your dealer. It doesn't take that much to check rather than offer conjecture. Talking amoungst ourselves isn't the most expeditious way to find you a gun. I'll bet another donut that if you didn't want to order sight unseen, that your dealer could unload one pretty easily if he ordered it in and you didn't like it. They do seem to be in short supply - particularly the SxS.

My dealer is one of the rare women who really know guns, and are very much up on the industry. She has had a Ruger SxS and a Weatherby SxS on order for over a year, and she tells me she is also on the wait list for one of these, but doesn't think I should hold my breath. She believes one will eventually come in, however, just not any time soon.

I noticed a vendor that we all know and love came up with some, specifically the SxS version. Looked like a good reason to resurrect the thread.
