LCP Firing Out of Battery?

I've been looking into the Ruger LCP and have noticed that some owners complain of the weapon coming out of battery. So my question is, if the trigger is squeezed while the LCP is out of battery, would it fire?

By the way, I'm thinking a "broken in" LCP with a good spring and lube should not fail to go into battery. Thoughts?

What does "out of battery mean." I thought only certain Remington varmint rifles had batteries in pg of stock?

"Out of Battery" means "Not in the proper locked condition for firing." Glocks, for example, can fire without being fully locked. M1911s cannot.

As soon as you pull the slide back on my LCP, the barrel starts to cam down out of the slide, and the trigger disconnects from the hammer. So firing out of battery should be impossible. I have had some lead bullets that were a bit long to go into battery, and the gun didn't fire.

I don't know where you heard that, but I just checked mine, and none will fire when the gun is out of battery. There is a point where the slide can be pushed back and the trigger will still operate, but the barrel is still in battery with the slide. At the point the barrel begins to pivot, the trigger will no longer move. I think this is true for most semi-autos, and is considered on of the negatives for using them in a self defense situation. They can be knocked out of battery and fail to operate just by pushing back the slide.
