Least amount of handguns?

Just one. 28-2 357 4”. It’s ugly but beautiful at the same time. Rough on the outside, but smooth like butta on the inside.

I don’t carry, so it’s my Plinker and Hunter. I have long guns for other activities not listed.

 

Ruger LCP for extreme concealability
Charter Arms Bulldog (.44 Special) for general CCW
Charter Arms Undercover (.38 Special) back-up and car carry
Ruger P90 (just because I love a .45 Auto)

 

Recent changes have made it very important that I can only have one gun.I have shot all of my handguns for the last few days and decided that the Ruger 45acp/45 has the best potential to be the best all around gun for social work and hunting

I could easily narrow it down to three. A carry gun, my Glock 42. A plinking and informal target .22, for this my Olympia works reasonably well. Then a Black Powder revolver; for this an 1862 .36 Pocket Police would serve well.

I actually don't currently have a Pocket Police, it was lost in the "great gun theft." However, I have an 1860 .44 Army and an 1849 .31 Pocket Pistol. The Pocket Police would easily split the difference.

 

I like your thinking! I had that gun and a regular 4" XD and loved them both. But last July I went to the ER and wound up on full life support for 5 days and kinda died twice. During that time the wife had to move and our friend Shawn helped a lot so she gave him the Compact. Actually she told him to choose and he chose the Compact. After 3 months I finally came home to a new place and one less gun! Ah well, I'm lucky I had anything left since she though I was gonna die.

 

I have gotten rid of what I didn't shoot so I'm down to a few 1911's (.45 and 10mm), the XD in .45 and a XDS in .45. Then a few revolvers in 44 mag and .357,then a S&W 41 in .22. Can't think of anything I can't do with those, especially if I add my .44Mag lever action.

Anymore I only practice defensive shooting, and for carry I like the XD with 13 rds of .45 in the mag.

First, I hate your minimalistic reality. Variety is one thing that makes life more fun.

At some point I guess I should reduce the amount of “stuff” I have.

I could, and possibly at some point will, live with one.

 

None, but i currently own 2, and ill likely add to that.
I had 5 at one point, but they are usually the easiest to sell or trade so all my handguns went away before my rifles or shotgun.

 

One - my EDC for range, carry, and HD work. Right now I am b-e-t-w-e-e-n a Glock 42 and a SIG 365.

1911 commander size or smaller

my 4 match target pistols
2/ K frames 3 and 4 inch
2/ J frame 2 and 3 inch
2/ single action cowboy shooting pistols
and with these I'm not sure that would cover my regular pistol use but ought to be near it.

 

One more than I have at any given time.

 

I could probably live the rest of my life with one of my Gen4 Glock 23's and be just fine.

 

1. Glock 19 - home defense and ccw
2. Smith 442 - pocket gun
3. Ruger Mark IV - target gun, trainer and plinker
4. NAA Pug - deep concealment

If I was pushed to one gun, I’d go with a Smith and Wesson M&P22 compact. Jack of all trades gun.

 

*Not caring about ammo costs*, etc, today I'd probably say a .45 shield for carry and some type of full sized hk usp 45 for target and hunting (45 super loads). Sadly I have neither of these pistols in those calibers.

 

Could possibly get by with these in a pinch?

 

One for carry summer, one for carry winter or dangerous areas, many for hunting/shooting from 45 Colt to 3030 T/C, and of course 22's for plinking, variety is the spice of life...

 

If all I had were my Ruger P345 and my Kahr PM45 I would be satisfied. Having others and having friends who have even more others is a shooting treat. My physical size allows pocket carry on the latter.
