I have found one company that makes a leather IWB holster for my 3" Taurus 431: The FIST #20. Problem is I'd prefer to spend a bit less than $100 shipped.
I'm still checking on one or two more possibilities, but my other option is to purchase a holster for a similarly sized gun. Lots of people have indicated that 3" S&W K Frame holsters fit this gun. Thing is I measured the cylinder widths and found the 431's cylinder to be notably bigger (1.513" for the Taurus, 1.445" for S&W K Frames).
A closer fit may well be holsters for 3" Ruger Security/Police Service/Speed Sixes, as their cylinders are 1.497" in diamter, much closer to the 1.513" diameter of the Taurus 431. S&W L Frame cylinders are probably a bit too wide, at 1.562".
So does anyone have any experience with this? Would a 3" Ruger Six holster work better for my Taurus than a 3" S&W K Frame holster?
