Lee 6000 press

Is Lee's website major screwed up now with the changes or is it just me/my computer(s).

Try to find SSP parts is like pulling teeth and many other parts do not even come up or work. All registered customer data/orders/wishlists/etc is gone.

What a mess. Right when I want to get stuff.

Wow

It is not your computer. It appears as if it has been redesigned and is a work in progress, it has been this way since yesterday. I was able to find stuff tonight that I couldn't find earlier. Hopefully they will get it fixed soon. Wish they had put out some kind of notice. I just checked and I can't find my orders either.

Okay, thanks. All my data/stuff/orders is gone..........

Real hard to navigate.

Definitely a work in progress/regress.

Thank you

Has anyone else had an issue with primers getting turned sideways and falling down outside of the primer carrier claw shaped thing and jamming up the priming system? It only happened when there wasn’t a case for the primer to go into so it had to ride the pin back down and go back into the slider. I wish I would have taken a picture to be able to explain it better. I’ve only loaded 200 rounds since I received my press back from Lee but I had this happen to me twice during my loading session. It wasn’t difficult to clear the jam but it was frustrating to stop the process. Next time I get a chance I’ll run some primers through and see if I can get a picture or video of the issue (if it continues to happen and wasn’t a fluke).

edit for detail: I was using Federal SPP in 9mm mixed range brass.

I appears some of you are posting in the wrong thread. This thread is about the KMS (squared) lighting system which is becoming available for the Lee SPP.

For questions about function, there are other threads where answers to your question might get a faster/more accurate response

DISREGARD THE ABOVE...I've fallen on my sword a couple of posts down

You sure about that? KMS is only on this page.....page 27. Think it's getting late.:)

It is perched on the primer rod precariously for sure....other manufacturers have a surround that is held up by a spring until the primer is homed into a case.

I haven't had one fall off yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if one does fall off. I watch and stroke carefully when there is no case. Lee has more faith than I do. ;)

Oops, you're right...as I hang my head in shame.

Because the KMS announcement was at the top of the page, for some reason, I got it stuck in my mind that this was a new thread/announcement...boy, am I glad a didn't remove any posts

That's nothing......if I was a moderator you'd all be in big trouble.....I'd make a huge mess of everything. You guys are great at it! I clicked on this thread because of the title......Moderators have to go down the list of threads one after the other, so I can certainly see why it happens, and especially so on this thread page with the big picture splash at the top of the page!

They told me nothing from old is being transferred to the new, all is gone.
I am like lots of folks and do not like change, but as a Lee "fan" this is a huge step backwards in usability, intuitive navigation and upgrade. They screwed up this time. IMO of course.

Similar thing happened when THR forum software was migrated/upgraded ... Years of photos/pictures disappeared and replaced with red "X".

It took a while to take new pictures and track down source posts where they were originally posted or go through endless pages of attachments.

But I do like the new/updated software with enhanced features ... :)

OK, back to OP of Pro 6000.

The ABLP priming system has a “surround” similar to what your talking about on the priming rod. I guess that could cause issues with spilled powder though. Maybe they could make one with grooves in it to let spilled powder out but still keep the primer in. I’ll pay closer attention to my stroke next time and see if that helps. Thank you for the advice!

Hi guys!!!
This is it !!! I am also one of the happy users of the Pro6000 .
I am currently preparing my workbench that will host the press.
I'm going to follow some tips from this forum and make some improvements that I found really ingenious.
Thanks guys for all this !!!

Yes, this has happened to me. In one of the other threads about the Pro 6000 I mentioned it. Lee contacted LiveLife with a solution and he posted it. It works for me. When I am running the press and there is no casing to be primed, I place a 9mm case under the shell plate which prevents the primer pin from popping all the way up. This keeps the loose primer below the shellplate, but the stroke still goes far enough down to properly index.

Hi guys !!!
Here is the continuation of the upgrade of my press ...

More upgrades to come!!!

See you soon

Even though I don't own one, I'm always reading about the six pack and found this mod that might help some SP owners.
The lengthening of the twisted portion of the index rod smooths out the indexing and lessons the spilling of powder.
Stock rod/quick twist on the left, modified longer/slower twist index rod on the right.
Index_old_new.jpg
The OEM index rod has a quick twist (near the bottom) for long cases to clear the dies before indexing.
The slow/elongated twist is for most pistol calibers and reduces powder spillage when the index ball snaps in at the end of an index.
It would be nice if Lee offered a longer/slow twist index rod...am I dreaming? o_O

First problem with my 6000 - primer pin does not retract enough so the primer guide hits it on the way in. Anyone else have this happen? What might be the problem? Thanks!

Make sure priming pin is dropping freely slightly below primer slide channel. If not, there maybe debri preventing pin from dropping all the way down - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.p...-oal-consistency.911743/page-18#post-12564292

OK, Lee now offers a "Soft Twist" index rod for the Six Pack Pro:
Lee Precision, Inc.. Six Pack Pro Soft Twist Index Rod
And I found this case slider gate for the case feeder:

Does Lee not offer free upgraded parts anymore? I got the first release of the 6pack and just found out they changed the carrier cover and primer chute and when I add to cart they're charging for it.

Welcome to THR.

Lee offers free "self-cleaning" priming pin for the old carrier cover - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.p...-oal-consistency.911743/page-13#post-12478009

Now Lee is shipping SPP/Pro 6000 kit with new carrier cover with "self-cleaning" priming pin sleeve that works with regular priming pin so upgraded "self-cleaning" priming pin is not necessary - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.p...-oal-consistency.911743/page-17#post-12550727

So if you have the older carrier cover, just call Lee customer service and they will send you the upgraded "self-cleaning" priming pin.

Upgraded "self-cleaning" priming pin on the left (To be used with old carrier cover) and regular priming pin on the right (To be used with new carrier cover):

Unrelated to the Pro 6000. If inappropriate, please excuse me.

I think I read Lee does a "trade in" program..send a picture of your old pro 1000, they give you a deep discount of the new upgraded one..on condition that you see to it that your old one gets properly recycled?

Is this true? Any details? I'm interested in doing it if true
