So I'm thinking this new press would really speed up case preparation for all the 9mm I process. And it should mount to the Lee bench plate system with this part from Lee:

    https://leeprecision.com/steel-base-block.html

I sure hope that's a correct assumption. I used to decap and then wet tumble, but now I decap and size at the same time to save one station on the LnL progressive (I use the hardwood block from Lee to mount the LnL to the bench plate). And I find that I get more consistent COL by not sizing and having the LnL shell plate rock with the effort. Looking forward to playing with a new toy.

It says shipped and a tracking number but it doesn't show any actual movement, so your guess is as good as mine.

Once the shipper prints the shipping label it will show shipped. May be days or weeks before package is actually picked up.

Some of the add-ons show shipping in March. That should impact the deluxe version.

Appears they've learned an RCBS trick.....advertise "unobtainium" early and create a demand long before the product is really ready. Hope they haven't learned the other trick....sell the product before it's ready and use early buyers to wring them out for them.

The swager I ordered is now pushed back to Feb.7. At least it's not a March one.....but I did order the deluxe, so who knows.

Top right corner is a button that says "print" version.....that tells me they want you to print the page including the pictures and videos......to share.....;) Of course....they are wanting to sell the press aren't they?
Anyway the last latest picture was another surprise.....RED handle? ugh. Minor thing, but I liked the black one....if there was a choice. :)
    APP-Press-Production.jpg

The picture is entitled, "Production APP".....oh well....maybe tall guys were not seeing the handle and got brained....or black eyes....

It is. It uses the same holes in the plate as the Breech Lock Reloader

Well, not the start I was hoping for but nothing that can't be made to work I believe. The jaws aren't sliding all the way over to place the case center of the shell holder. Plastic parts appear to be too tight.
I can see already the two tube supports will get their own bolts.
Was glad to see my universal decapper from my SS with breechloc went in without needing adjustment.
The x-press shell holders aren't recommend for full length resizing rimless bottleneck cases. That would've been some good information to have a couple of months ago.

That distance is supposed to be adjustable... At least, I thought I read somewhere that it was supposed to be. Any luck on this since you posted?

A guy on another forum posted a couple of YouTube videos about his Lee APP unboxing experience and initial use for decapping:

I sure hope Lee fixes their shell holder problem. Mine will be used nearly exclusively for sizing powder coated cast bullets, but it would be nice to use it for bulk decapping on occasion.

A few more APP videos... Man, I can't wait to get mine. I'm so far behind on bullet sizing, it's going to take me forever to get caught up.

The guy that did these videos has been very helpful in answering questions about the press. Great guy. IIRC, he ordered his shortly after they started taking pre-orders for the press. So it looks like I'm still in for a bit of a wait, as I didn't order mine until the day after Christmas (late Christmas gift from the wife).

I'm still in the process of getting an OpenBulletFeeder collator printed up and assembled. These videos are giving me inspiration to put more effort into getting it done.

My order was from Titan for the Deluxe APP and the Swager kit. It was still "processing" yesterday, but they left me a note on the bottom of the order that said that Lee redesigned and upgraded the swage kit to include more parts for all primer pocket sizes, and would cost another few bucks. I already had to change the order once.....they had me down for 2 presses....probably I did that by hurrying. So they supposedly refunded the extra press. (of course my card was charged the day I ordered). Anyway I decided to cancel the whole thing and wait a bit for them to get all their ducks in a row. Will still order and pay the extra....just not on the leading edge.

The first two videos were interesting.....I think I've had 2 high primers in my life....and one of them caused a slam fire in my AR 10, caused by a swager, no less, that instead of swaging, it sheared a tiny brass ring into the bottom of the two reloads' primer cups (unnoticeable by looking) and caused them to seat proud! That probably will never happen again, since I check for it now. ;) So I doubt I will have the problem with the case holders as he did. I don't load in cases with loose pockets.

Just watched the bullet sizing videos.....impressive, but I'll never do anything but plated or jacketed....too old to start another hobby......:)

I found the problem. The slide rail was torqued down too tight and was pinching the inserter to base.
The only real adjustments is how tight the jaws clamp to case or bullet, and the height of the feed tube supports. The supports are in pairs but I cut them apart to make 4 separate supports, each with it's own bolt to make change out quicker. The jaw adjustment is a simple screw in or out a little, nothing to it.
I should've been smart enough to realize that with a third of the shell holder missing, full length resizing of rimless bottle neck cases is pretty much a no go. I know now.
I had to have a different handle so I changed it out.

Just watched the above videos and can say that decapping is just as fast. My neighbors kids came by and had a ball and punched almost a thousand 9mm primers for me.

Mine, from Titan, just showed up at the front door today...no email notice of any kind. I was a bit worried at first as it was only held closed by 4 pieces of tape ( the staples had been pulled) but once I opened it, I found that it was just to insert the additional pass-through shell holder I had ordered.

I would have mounted it to see how it all works, but I've been laid up with Pneumonia for the last month, just got back home and not quite up to going into the garage ( I think the oxygen line will reach). Just as well as I forgot to order the Inline Fabrication Quick Change plate for it while I was in the hospital.

Just a quick look over the press and it is pretty clever and yet very basic (what you'd expect from Lee). I really like the thinking behind the design of the shell holder...there is a factory caution about using it to resize bottle neck cartridges. I now also understand why ponchh changed the operating handle on his (too small)...I'll have to give it some thought

I knew the arm hitting the web between my fingers on every down stroke would get old in a hurry.
I changed the handle again, from 1/2 to 1 in dia. Made it twice as nice and soon as my buddy brings me some
1 1/2 in. I'm going to see if it will make it 3 times as nice.

Tried to load a video of it in action.
    Can't pull it off.

I might just screw on a Inline Fabrication roller handle from their Ergo Handle...just because I'm used to it

Interested in hearing how the Inline Fabrication ergo Handle works. Geeze, Pnumonia! Be careful, and stay away from the new Chinese virus. Ponchh's new handle looks better than the first one.....I like that one way better. Too bad Lee can't supply a comfortable handle.

Ponchh: Have you tried uploading your video on Vimeo? I found that site to be easy to use......John Lee (Lee Precision), switched to Vimeo.....videos take a while to upload, be patient, worth it.

I went ahead and reordered from Titan. They got the new swage kit shipping in a few days. (if they don't move the date a third time)

hat type of cases feeder system are you using? That looks much better than the single tube system with the APP.

It's the lee case feeder #90242 and #90667 collator bowl. That's what is recommended on instruction sheet.
For 9mm I put a washer the same diameter as a penny in the center to make cases feed base down. Not one upside down case as of yet. A 1/4 bolt or screw will hold it in place even though there isn't actually any threads in the collator, but is a good tight friction fit. Some are using a piece of 1/2 PVC or PEX in each hole to accomplish the same result. Lots of instructions on u tube. It does take a little longer to shake them in, but all upright cases makes it worthwhile.

I have experience with primers sticking if the cases had been washed and dried before decapping. I am guessing that is exactly what is happening in the decapping video here, although these cases may have been wet tumbled, not just washed.

@9mmepiphany Pneumonia so bad it put you in the hospital is darn scary. Glad to hear you are doing better... the whole struggling to breathe thing that goes along with pneumonia that severe is something so horrible, people who haven’t been through it can just never even imagine how awful it is. So sorry you went through that.

I received an email from Titan last Friday. It finally shipped. Tracks for delivery tomorrow.

I got a collator all setup and ready to size a mountain of cast and powder coated 9mm bullets.
