I picked up a LNIB lefty Stag because the LGS had it priced to move, and I just wanted ONE rifle made "for me". I'm one of those funky people who are right handed when it comes to throwing a ball or writing but totally left handed when it comes to everything else. I can't shoulder a rifle or draw a bow right handed without it feeling like a 2x4
Could I get by with a right handed model? Sure. I shot an 870's for years before scoring an old Ithaca 37, watched semi-auto brass fly in front of my face from all of my pistols, and even learned how to do the clumsy reach-over with a bolt action. When I stumbled across a really nice for the money AR that would alleviate some of that, I had to have it
I'm not a soldier. I don't shoot my Stag enough to worry about parts being available when I'm scavenging the land for a left handed bolt assembly as zombies close in on my trail. I'm just a lefty that likes to blow off steam at the range with the cheap to feed .223 and prefers that the magma-hot brass shoots AWAY from him. As for resale, I don't wanna sell it I plan on shooting it until I break it beyond repair, get tired of it and shelve it away in the safe, or move onto some completely different platform. For what little I have invested in the Stag, it doesn't make sense to trade it off. Come to think of it, my 18 month old daughter is showing signs of being a southpaw...hmmm
I do have a plan, however, to get a RH upper "just in case" Like I said, I can deal with the brass if I HAVE to. It's never a bad thing let your modular rifle be...well, modular.
