Les Baer 1911 as my first pistol?

I just ordered a Les Baer 1911 CMP Legal 1911 for my bullseye, IDPA and hopes of making it to nationals at Camp Perry one day.

I'm 16 as of now and he building it custom for Me!:D I'm still amazed of what he said to me over the phone it gonna be mailed to my FFL by mid-March and im still pumped.

It sounds like he is giving you a real deal, I've never heard of a new gun coming out of the Les Baer shop for so little money

You're going to love it
 
Hey Kid, hope you have some strong hands-forearms...Might get a hernia pulling back the Baer slide...:D
 
What are the specs for this $1k gun? It's hard to believe a custom shop took an order from a 16 year old.
 
I call BS

In my quest to figure out how a 16 year old kid get a custom builder to build him a 1911 for a grand, which as described is likely against the law.... I decided to look at your other post to see if the answer was in there...

Well, you seem to know more about guns than call of duty and you refer to several of your handguns in some of your older posts.

Learn some humility.
 
There is no way that Les Baer is taking an order from a 16 year old kid. The FFL cannot transfer the gun to a 16 IIRC.

Something does not sound right... Maybe his father is the buyer of the gun but that is not how it is being presented. :uhoh:
 
Are we talking a thousand American dollars? Not euros or something? :confused:

16 + Custom Les Baer = Daddy is buying a Les Baer and he can't remember how much it costs.

Maybe you should say... Thru your father, who is over 21, who let's me "use it" when we are at the range together. Unless you live in a state that allows those under 21 to own a handgun. I didn't look at all the states, but I don't know of any that do.

Is there something new? It reads like a lot of other states.. 21 to own handguns.. must transport locked and away..

Consider it hijacked. LOL

Some states will allow a 18 year old to own a handgun but they cannot purchase/transfer it at and FFL until 21. IIRC in VA an 18 year old could be given a handgun as a gift or buy a handgun from a private party but not an FFL. I am not a lawyer so I could be wrong.
 
Sorry if i presented this wrongly, and please do not just bash me. My trainer, Dad and i worked out a deal to get this pistol, basically a partial sponsorship.. i wear his shirts and competitions and such

the pistol retails for $1870 http://lesbaer.com/CMP.html getting it for around $1300
I shoot competitive bullseye, i talked to Les himself to organize this deal along with my Dad.
I'm am not wealthy by any means and He knows that which is why he gave me the deal

If u want to see the order form i get get a copy but please do not try and point out multiple times that this is BS, thanks to those who congratulated me though.

Cool deal... if you're legit after all you should be very happy with that deal. You'll love the pistol. Wish I could get that deal...

You must understand however the verbiage you used in your OP and which you use to post on a regular basis raises eyebrows because it could constitute illegal activity. You stated you ordered a pistol. You state all the time you are looking at purchasing this rifle or that handgun etc...

When you then state you are 16 it gives one pause. Advising someone who has expressed the intent to break the law is never a good thing to do even on the interweb. Your statements could at that point became a concern for other members and rightfully so.

Anyway looks like you or should we say your Dad, LOL, got a great deal. Keep us informed and up to date about how the guns works for you and how well you do in competition with it.

Yes the whole, I am 16 and I am buying, threw us.

Your Team is buying, Your dad is coach, and you are a sponsored team which at times gives an edge as to purchasing.
