I'll get us started, And I wanted to hear about some other matchs.

Me and my SVI 40S&W, 6 A-zone hits at 105ft, it was 3 on each 2 targets. I was so excited I had made them I missed 2 of the 6 shots at 30ft, still mad about it:fire:

I was sitting in a chair shot through a 12x12" hole at three targets about 15 yards away fanned out at the head with a no shoot in front. I was supposed to hit two shots to the head each, but I missed one. Don't remember the time.

But you already knew that :)
 
Standing, 40 yards, 6 A-zone hits about one shot a second. Naturally it was with somebody ELSES pistol. :banghead:
 
The club had a side match called "pocket pistol Mozembique" . It called for 2 targets to get the Mozembique treatment - 6 shots total. Range to targets 10-15 ft. I didn't have an appropiate gun to shoot the pocket pistol match so a friend offered to lend me his Colt officers ACP for the match. Since I borrowed the gun I shot last, I realized the rules didn't call out exact order of shooting so I just smoked the 4 chest shots point shooting then went back to aim at the heads. I won the match and my friend vowed never to lend me any more guns.

This weekend at the 3-gun on a pistol stage. A popper peeking out over the shoulder of a no-shoot. I'm shooting one-handed since it was a "middle of the night" scenario and mags had to be hand carried or in pockets (hey who says my jammies don't have mag pouches?), so I'm juggling 2 mags in my left hand. Get to the doorway and engage the popper, four shots and still no hit. I finally ditch one of the extra mags and get a decent hold on my pistol and hit the popper. I finish the stage envisioning four no-shoot hits... But I missed completely with all 4 shots... Whew...:rolleyes:
 
I had just finished shooting an array of targets from a baracade. As I went to move from there to a couple of barrels, low cover about 10 feet away, I tripped! :what: I knew I was going down and I new it wasn't going to be pretty, I just tried not to break my neck!

It's amazing how your mind thinks in hyper drive while your body is moving in slow motion. :uhoh:

I don't know how this happened, but I wound up doing a complete somersault, (controling the muzzle and not breaking the 180!), comming up behind the barrels and finishing the stage with 6 A's on the remaining 3 targets! :cool:

The RO thought I "tried" to do it until he saw the look on my face after it was over, but it was entirely an accident. Probably the 6 A's as well as the trip.
 
All -0's on a pair of sideways bobbing movers, which were partially obscured by plastic barrels. The best part was, somebody had unintentionally left a box of target pasters on top of one barrel. One of my rounds skimmed across the top of the barrel, absolutely shredding the box of pasters before it hit almost dead center on the target. Paster confetti everywhere (.45s are the caliber of choice for this task, apparently), and an offer from the match director to reshoot the stage. "No thanks, I don't wanna shoot up ALL your pasters today!", was my somewhat witty reply. Besides, it was a clean run, and you don't challenge the range gods when things are going your way, right?
 
A couple of years ago at a IPSC championship shoot, there was a stage that had a swinging helecopter.There a platform that the shooter and the RO would sit.The other ro would pull this platform back and lock it with a pin.On the buzz of the timer the shooter would pull a release leaver that would release the pin and start the helecopter swinging and swinging fast.The shooter would have to retreive your gun from a drawer inarms lenght and shoot 2rds in each target,I believe there were 8 targets that were 15yds or so, with a quite a few noshoots inbetween.
I was the firts one to clean the stage only dropping a few points,and some how missing the all noshoots
I though that I was the man untill a couple A class 0pen shooters shot it ,Man were they fast alot faster than me.I am just a C class shooter in limited 10. I was still happy I was the 1st one.

My best stage was a swinger set to go off when you hit a pepper popper. It swung behind (and was completely obscured by) a no-shoot target right in front of it. You had to put best 2 on the target.

I hit the popper, it started to swing, and I got a head shot and a -0 shot in the center. Time, 4.97 seconds (not too shabby considering I have a really slow draw). Better than the master and expert shooters by nearly a second.

Of course, I totally sucked on the other stages for the rest of the day, and that was the first one I shot, so it was really downhill from there. But, I was a fine shot for 4.97 seconds! <sighs wistfully>:cool:
 
I don't compete on a regular basis, but a few times a year I will be off from work and remember there is a match and actually attend. One weekend last year I took a little road trip to another city that had a match on Saturday and a match of Sunday. At the match on Saturday, I was terrible. I was actually embarrased and was happy that I didn't know anyone there. But I must have got it out of my system because on Sunday, I actually won the match. The best part was one stage that consisted mainly of plates. There were a lot of misses on that stage but when my turn came, I flew right through it finishing in like half the time of the next closest score. Two of the guys from that club that were pretty good had not been paying attention and make a small scene that there was no way I shot that stage in that time. They tried everything from a bad timer to the plates had not all been reset. But, other than them, everyone else stood there and watched it happen.

This was definitely my moment in the sun. I normally finish middle of the pack and had never won a match before or since. Everything was just clicking that day.
 
The absolute best shot I ever made in an IPSC match occured several years ago. We were shooting a stage that had a target that moved across the line of fire. This target consisted of a backer with pulleys on the top which ran on a fairly thin piece of steel wire. My plane was to shoot the stationary targets, then hit the activator target and hit the mover. Well, as I was shooting the stationary targets, I took a head shot on one of them. Turns out the wire ran right behind the head of this target and not only did I get an "A" hit in the head, but I also cut the wire in half. That kind of messed up my run, which had been good up to that point!
 
I stopped by my club to shot my Enfield one day and they were having a pistol match-a friend loaned me his revolver-a S&W .45 ACP that uses moon clips.

The first stage was sitting at a card table, facing, from the left, a pepper popper, a B27, and a small popper. Knock down the first popper, two shots at the B27, knock the last popper for time. I ripped through it quickly BANGBANGBANGBANG (I don't recall the time, but it was very fast). The hits on the B27 were between the eyes and right where his johnson would have been. they accused me of showing off. It was pure luck of course.
