Several months ago I had the opportunity to purchase a firearms estate. Here are some items I cannot identify:

    1. Is this a Valmet mag?

    2. I thought this was an AK part. The top of the scope rail says "Valmet".

    3. Have no idea what this thing is...

    4. This is a rail for something...

    5. This is also a scope rail of some kind...

    6. How about this ammo...I have a few boxes of it...

    7. What is this thing?

2 is a AK-type receiver cover. (I know, crummy answer)

I believe 3 is a scope rail for an AR-15 type carry handle, but I haven't seen one quite like that.

#3 is a "gooseneck" rail for an AR without a removable handle.

Jorg is right on #2. its an unstable, don't hold zero, receiver cover/scope mount for an AK. neat in concept, worthless in reality.

    1. Appears to be a Norinco AK mag.
    2. An AK-style top cover; the whole thing could be for a Valmet (they make/made lots of AK derivatives), or just the rail could be added to another AK top cover.
    3. Scope rail for an AR with a carry handle.
    4. Appears to be a scope mount for an M1A/M-14.
    5. Don't recognize the layout on the B-Square; there should be a model number on it.
    6. I believe this is a clip of 6.5x52 Carcano ammo, but would need some measurements and/or the headstamp to be sure.
    7. Is a clip-style loader for a French or Italian machine gun, I can't remember which right now; can you read a headstamp on the rounds, or tell what calibre the rounds are?

    1. Generic European AK mag (not a Valmet mag)

    2. Generic AK top cover with a scope mount glommed on. Probably not too stable, since the top cover will move around a bit.

    3. AR gooseneck mount. Bolts onto a carry handle.

    4. Scope mount for an M1A, I think.

    6. Not sure - what does the headstamp read? It's not Carcano ammo; those used 6-round clips.

    7. Carcano ammo for the 1938 Breda machine gun, probably 6.5 Carcano (I had some of this myself)

I saw the thread title and thought we'd all get to play.

Sorry I can't help with the OPs question, but who can identify this (slightly broken) part?

With the two lines at the base, the mag looks like a Yugo, AK 47, bolt hold open.
